Glimpse Dog : We recently had a chance to play End of Nations and speak to some of the developers from Treicharin London. In this article we’ll go through our first impressions of game and examine some of the new gameplay elements introduced in this seemingly unexplored genre in the western gaming market. What the developers are calling an ‘MMO-RTS’ (that’s massively-multiplayer-online real-time-strategy game) is a fresh genre that combines MMO styled role playing elements, like levels and progression, and fuses it with what feels to be the stubbornly unchanging real time strategy genre.
Yesterday, SEGA announced the SEGA Forever program. That program is currently available on iOS and Android app stores. Basically, SEGA Forever lets people download classic SEGA games for free and play them on their Android and iOS devices.
Ya, no thanks Sega. I can already do this on my android device, without your bull##it ads either.
I downloaded Phantasy Star II. It runs ok except the frame rate and music are a bit choppy. Not game ruining for me, but they need to do a little better.
Choo choo! Everyone wants aboard the MOBA train. That includes Sony, who developed Kill Strain -- a game predicated on an intriguing 5v2v5 setup involving two teams of competing Mercenaries and one team of angry neutral Mutants. It's a mighty cool concept, but the follow-through is lacking.
Despite Battleborn costing $60, a little digging reveals a game that almost certainly was designed to be a multiplayer-focused free-to-play experience. Should the game have stuck to that strategy?
I played the beta, and was surprised to find out that they were going to be charging for the full release. I play Smite on my PS4... completely different gameplay mechanic, but still a MOBA. I've had more fun with it (completely free to play) than with my time in the Battleborn beta. That's not to say I didn't enjoy Battleborn. I may pick it up for dirt cheap some day. But $60 seems ridiculous.
Being honest, Overwatch provides even less content and I'd still prefer paying full price for that over Battleborn. If I'm not mistaken, DLC maps for Battleborn are not even free either.
