Would this attract more mainstream attention? Sean Daisy believes that we have to remove the unorthodox and underground nature of eSports in order to make it more accessible - could sport and simulation games in eSports be the answer?
Jason Hall, currently an indie developer and former Blizzard employee, has been sharing some really interesting stories from his long career in the industry for a while now. Some of them are truly insightful, while others may seem depressing.
I’m a little shocked that StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty sold only around 6 million copies. The original StarCraft did over 11 million. Maybe Blizzard was too leisurely in releasing StarCraft 2? Starcraft 2 came out 12 years after it’s predecessor.
and people wonder why we are having mtx in everything. i blame the people who actual buy them.
It's interesting he used Brazil as an example of the importance of regional pricing. Nowadays many companies on Steam are setting their prices in Brazil as high as, if not more than, their price in USA. I simply refused to buy a few games when I noticed that's the case.
COGconnected's Jacob Greenwood interviews Super Smash Brother's player MKLeo, the best player in the world, about Genesis 8.
It is time to start preparing for the BLAST Premier 2021 Fall Season. The big news today is the region expansion for the series.
Depends on the sports game. A game like Madden should not be a part of esports because it's an arcade game. It doesn't simulate Football really well. When you try to set up coverages the AI usually doesn't do a good job, thus leaves those who know how to setup good defensive coverages frustrated.
Beacause simulation sport Games have too many flaws/glitches
Well I'm a high level fifa player and I've seen competitive fifa streams before and simply put, it's just boring to watch. 1v1 games only make good esports when there is enough variety.. generally speaking in fifa at least there is only a few styles of play that are effective at high level and you see so many of the same attack patterns repeated.
I can only speak for Fifa here but it is, whilst a very good video game, not representative of real football. In real football you do not get repeated skills and magically curled finishes EVERY MATCH, not even Van Persie can do that in real life! The fact is though they have to cater to their audience who believe they are good at football when they pull off one of those so I don't see Fifa changing to become more realistic, I see it getting worse. I mean they introduced a defensive system whereby simply holding x your defender will shadow the person on the ball perfectly, not even the best of defensive midfielders can do that in real life. They need to take off all the crappy assists and let players play rather than assisted stuff
I know there are inaccuracies and flaws, but personally eSports without a few sports titles just doesn't fit.
I hope in the very least we see a Nascar game hit eSports at some point.
