Ian Fisher writes: The structure and gameplay of Deep Black: Reloaded may not be too different from most core 3rd person shooting games, but it provides a fresh setting that we hardly see touched upon and it shows the design skill of Russian game developers, a scene which is slowly starting to grow. I was able to chat with Biart CEO and Deep Black Producer Konstantin Popov about the history of Deep Black, the perception gamers may have on the project, and what sort of elements folks can expect from the game.
Enough of talking about the best games of 2012, now lets disperse with the bile. Which games outright disappointed our staff members at This Is My Joystick in 2012?
Its time for the guys to explain for themselves…
I dunno how could one be dissapointed in 007 legends ... the last good 007 game was goldeneye on n64 .... the rest ranged from mediocre to garbage and all coming from activision
And Max Payne 3 was too hard ? really , especially with the aim assists on easy and normal modes and the built in mechanics to regain health during slowmo ? I felt quite the opposite , and was surprised the game wasnt more challenging on hardest settings .
Deep Black has a lot of ambition, but never really accomplishes any of the goals made for itself. It falls short of a lot of things, gameplay being the frontrunner in that category. A mundane story doesn't help at all, giving little to no reason in dropping $15 bucks on it.
Deep Black really doesn’t waste any time putting you right into the action of modern day espionage. The whole game revolves around essentially being a spy, and having to secretly complete missions to help your organization accomplish their goals. It’s a pretty cut and dry story that didn’t do anything that we haven’t seen before. The only difference is that instead of having the blessing of doing missions on land, you have to do them from underwater (for the majority, anyways). Yes everyone, Deep Black is an underwater 3rd person shooter with an emphasis on stealth and espionage. You complete mission after mission while stalking your prey like a shark, then either striking from under the water, or coming out to greet them face to face. The only question that remains is…does it work?
