In the video game adventures of Commander Shepard, being a gay man was neither a matter of biology nor choice.
It was a matter of programming. And the programming of Shepard's first video game, 2007's Mass Effect, made being gay impossible.
Thanks to their innovative approach to gaming, RPGs like Dark Souls, Final Fantasy VII, and Dragon Quest left a significant impact on the genre.

Better not bring back Shepherd from the dead with some half assed space magic.
@snowb420.
Yeah I saw that at the end of my play through as well. I think they will bring Shepard back….. or at least a mutant version turned villain. Lol
Quick, someone call Fox news!
Someone obviously hasn't played Dragon Age: Origins if having the option to have a homosexual relationship in a BioWare game is news.
The more choice the merrier.
As long as they don't make it as bad as Dragon Age 2. That game was really, really gay. Literally. Felt uncomfortable and awkward the entire playthrough. A toggle option in the settings to hide such stuff would be nice. I don't want to think of Garrus as being gay, ever. Sorry if's insulting but its just how I feel.
I guess we now have another option for the type of sound track that could be played in the background. During this years Democratic election party meetings. At break time, some of the staff will now have the option to play Mass Effect 3 in "another galaxy". Meanwhile, it may help promote and support their social special interests group buddies. LOL
