Gameforge AG has today launched the free-to-play revision of AION. The change-over has occurred simultaneously for the German, French and English language versions of the videogame, and is available now.

Gameforge and NCSOFT has just announced that they have launched the 7.2 ("Shadows Over Red Katalam") update for their fantasy MMORPG "AION".
DSOGaming writes: "Gameforge has released a comprehensive update for its fantasy MMORPG AION in Europe. As the press release reads, with the launch of version 7.0, Gameforge unlocks the new region of Dumaha with the PvE instance ‘Stella Development Laboratory’ and provides Artist class players with a second specialization to select."
Might have to revisit this one.. I quit with a lvl 34 sorc back in the day. I'm sure plenty has changed.
Took their sweet time. Friggin game never even had free trials back when I would have thought of playing it.
So, free to play. Intrusive item shop and pay-to-win items then?
