Victor Ireland of Gaijinworks comments on the possibilities of Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete appearing on the Playstation Network as PSOne Classics for the PLaystation 3, PSP and PS Vita.
Even if the Sega franchise strikes you as dabbling in old school gaming, it is well worth a look at the systems. Some of the original Sega CD (or Mega-CD in Europe) games have an astounding amount of appeal that lovers of all things gaming should consider giving a try.
Silpheed, Android Assault, Lords of thunder, Solfeace, flying squadron. That's why I own Mega cd.
Maybe one day Konami won’t be lame and they can release a Sega CD collection with Snatcher.
the only problem with owning a Sega CD is the hardware is less than reliable nowadays. I have an Analogue Mega SG which is an updated version of a genesis along with a Mega SD cartridge which allows me to play Sega CD games off of it. I have the entire Genesis / Sega CD library on the cart and it's great. Although many of these games do not hold up well, lol.
"When it comes to JRPGs, no console has as many top-notch experiences as PS1 so let's explore the 10 best RPGs for PlayStation." - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums
Personally, I believe the golden age for JRPGs would of been between the 4th-6th generation of consoles.
And these games are some of the strongest reasons why the original PlayStation is my all time favourite system of all time.
Xenogears...I felt the nostalgia reading from the site:
“Without a doubt, Xenogears has the best story out of any PS1 JRPG. In fact, it may just feature the grandest story in all of gaming. With a fictional history spanning over 10,000 years and a protagonist that keeps being reincarnated through time, trying to wrap your head around the plot is as exacting as it is engaging. Being able to battle in giant mechs known as Gears and on foot with a super-satisfying combo system is great fun and the soundtrack is one of the best scores ever composed in gaming. What could beat this?”
Solid list. Out of personal preference i might shift around a few of the ranked numbers.
Old-school role-playing fans will probably remember this name with a great fondness but unfortunately, nowhere near enough people played it back then.
I was hoping that it would have come to the ps3 with the ps1 classics but never did :(
Loved collecting that suit of armor (must be upgraded to be worth a damn.) and the Cockatrice.
Lunar: The Silver Star- This was my first JRPG that I really fell in love with and still play to this day. The Characters, Story, Music and Cut-scenes were wonderful. I have this on the Sega CD, PS1 and the PSP.
Lunar Eternal Blue- was another great new story in the Lunar universe. I was always hoping for a Directors Cut similar to Lunar Silver Stary Harmony.
I wanted this to be a huge series, like the scale of Final Fantasy, too bad that never happened.
do it, this game was awesome on the ps1.
That´s nice the games are avaiable for the PSP with improved graphics but i rather have a version that plays in both platforms (PSP/PS3)
about damn time. day one
OH HELL YES.
I still have both complete editions for ps1 but would love to play this on my PSP or Vita (if it gets support).
