Andy writes - "Never sampling the Risen series nor having any knowledge about the game in general, I was hoping Risen 2 would pull me into its universe and show me how refreshing a pirate themed RPG would be. After some time spent with the preview build that contains a quarter of the full game, I was left with an empty feeling of doubt that this is still not a series for me."
Neil writes "It's Tuesday and that means the Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight sale is rocking and rolling once more. Want to check out the discounts available to Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers between the 20th-26th Sept 2016?"
he Gothic series has a cult-like following in several European countries, including Germany and Poland. Its worshippers can also be found among the hardcore RPG supporters worldwide. Is there a chance for a comeback?
Neil writes "The latest Xbox Live Deals With Gold are now live and with them come a few tasty bargains from Square Enix with deals for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners."
People NEED to realise that RPGS developed in Europe will nothing like Elder Scrolls, Fallout or Mass Effect. Series such as Risen, Gothic, Witcher and even STALKER will be very different. In my view the European RPGs take more risks whereas some american RPGs usually play it safe by continuing the story of the previous game without much improvement.
I think that I am so use to what American RPG's has given me that playing something that is so deep and in a sense true to the RPG namesake is tough for me to get into.
I am just glad there are people out there that can play these sorts of games but it will remain the shadows of other RPG's for now.
