I never played it but heard good things about the game. With today's graphics and its first person horror game. It could be great. Also didn't know Throwback had Re-Volt ip back then. That game was excellent and so underrated.

I don't know why D gets such praise TBH. It had an interesting concept but the game itself was pretty poor with bad controls, murky graphics and poorly implemented puzzles.

For today' standard, it sucks yeah but back then, it had some really great graphics and like you said interesting concept.

I will definitely try it on an emu some day.
