[Twinfinite] No 360 Support for PC Mass Effect 3. Razer releases ME3 360 Controller. WTF?

So according to an article on Eurogamer, Mass Effect 3 will not support Xbox 360 controllers on the PC. Even though it’s because the developers cannot spend extra development time implementing this feature, this is fine with me. I really enjoy playing PC games with a mouse and keyboard and I wasn’t planning on playing Mass Effect 3 on PC with an xbox controller. With that being said, Razer has announced a line of Mass Effect 3 themed products, including an Xbox 360 controller. What the hell?

Can't believe BioWare is using time constraints as an excuse for lack of controller support. So many games made by infinitely smaller devs have 360 controller support.

At least this isnt as bad as valve trolling, nuff said.

seriously, the other me games didnt have pad support. To ask for pad support on this game is ridiculous when it plays a lot bette ron mouse and keyboard. PC gamers need to stop whining about mundane crap like this and look at the real issues like the FOV and lack of holstering and animations and low res textures. Instead, they whine about pad support? really? shameful. When we get pad support we all complain about how it is a dumbed down console port and when we dont get it you all whine. This is getting out of hand. Am a pc gamer and my complaints are with what i meantioned above, not with a pad. My god. Anybody care to tell me if they rather have the wheel rather than the shift interface we have now? i dont see the wheel as beneficial, and the hotkeys? how you going to do that on a pad? or are you wishing for that mircale of popping in that controller and the interface magically changing to pad console interface? is that it? you hope for that little miracle? awwww, good for bioware for keeping it as pc. The options are still there. Xpadder, joy2key, have fun using a pad on a game thats not meant to be used with a pad, considering it plays a lot better on mouse and keyboard.

I can't fathom people "bitching" about pad support. break out a superior monster DPI mouse and call it a day, I say!

wait a sec what happened to mouse and keyboard 4 life >>> gamepad????

i cant believe so many pc gamers are bitching and moaning over gamepad support.....shesh...

Blaine4481d ago

But are PC gamers bitching?

I know it's a small sample, but for lack of a better one let's look at the posters in this thread:

1 Criticizing BioWare
1 Trolling
2 PC gamers who don't want pad support to begin with

So out of 2 PC gamers... we have 2 people who don't care about pad support. The only one in this thread who is criticizing BioWare, I can't tell if he's a PC gamer or not (no offense Megaton, you're entitled to your opinion, just citing what I see here).

So this strikes me as more of the people who just like to bitch about everything even though they have no interest in the game, bitching. Seems rampant these days; people bitching about everything, even though they never planned on buying it. They just want things to change in response to their bitching, not always for the best (what do they care? They've already moved on to the next subject to bitch about. Let the fans contend with a product that's broken because of them.)

there is certain games that just work well with a gamepad. Yes I wouldn't want gamepad support in an fps but Mass Effect was originally a console game so the gamepad just works. Not including it in the PC version is just outright lazy. Like I wouldnt play a racing game on my pc without a gamepad or my Logitech G27 racing wheel. Mouse and keyboard works for alot of things but somethings it doesn't aka Skyrim (Unless you mod it haha)

Blaine4480d ago

Thanks, that was well said. For sure, some games aren't suited to mouse and keyboard! But I, not knowing better, assumed ME would be great for that setup.

@OhReginald
"wait a sec what happened to mouse and keyboard 4 life >>> gamepad???? "

I much prefer KB/Mouse for FPS and 3PS, but i guess there are console fanboys, that instead of purchasing a console version of the game, want to play a Full HD version with better graphics and mod support on the PC... and want gamepad support.

achmetha4481d ago

some people (like myself) just enjoy playing with a controller more. and so what if there's no built in support. there are plenty of ways to do it yourself. though i dont understand what is so hard about having it built in esp because it's also coming out for 360. seems fairly simple actually....

PC gaming is about having choice, and when developers start removing choices, we get upset. Simple as that. I can't play Mass Effect on my 42" TV because BioWare is too lazy.

It's 2012 and some PC games still don't have pad support. Sad.
