That’s why they’re considered serious sponsors and it’s not too unlikely to see some cute smiling faces appear on the bonnet of a sport car during official races.
Total shipments of the Hatsune Mike series have surpassed 2.5 million units in Japan as of July 2, SEGA announced today.

Considering that this number is the sum of sales of eight games, for me it's a little underwhelming. The way SEGA promotes Hatsune Miku's games in Japan (I even bought the one for Vita when I went there because of the heavy marketing - and I don't even like Hatsune Miku) I thought they were more popular.
