And i know i'll obviously get disagrees , but dynasty warriors had even more changes , negative or positive , in the last 3 games than every cod game since mw1 .

Disagree away folks , the cold facts are rather easy to checks and in DW's favor there .

I can already see that mentioning that COD needs to stay is hurting feelings, but its true. The games that need to go are the millions of clones that are copying COD. Those are the real problem.

DW is spammed as much or more then COD. Dynasty Warriors Gundam series, Warriors Orochi, Dynasty Warriors Strike Force (or something like that), and the typical Dynasy Warriors. Soon Dynasty Warriors will spam its way to the vita. If you are somehow a fan of the series i guess that great news for you, but do those games even make money?

Sonic is another franchise that needs to have a seat on the bench. Assasins Creed is headed that way as well. Even on this site alone pay attention. When an article about Dynasty Warriors pops up, lets see if anyone even comments on it.

You obviously dont get it , DW is a major selling brand in japan . That's why it's so spammed like cod . Of course it's making money with a franchise worth more than 20 millions units sold .

It's what made Koei what it is today , and allowed them to swallow studios like Tecmo in a merger

Even the worst sonic sells millions , it's pretty much why the brand is still alive . And what's the point of repeating that Sonic should rest , when it finally got a game old and new fans react positively to in Generations ?

Well it's kinda the same as this one . Few on our side cares , wich is pretty much why the articles can make up whatever crap they need .

Heck it's obvious in a recent IGN review of DW gundam , that the author didnt even play the game and made up stuff on the go . Wich most wouldnt notice

I am actually a very big sonic fan. I am also happy they finally after years of suffering made a new sonic game. But im going to end this here. I guess its not my place to say an over done spammed to death game should stop. I guess COD is the only spammed game that should stop.

That actually does not surprise me at all. This is a strange generation from journalism all the way down to devs, and the games themselves. I would appreciate it if DW was released on a Next gen console. That way I can finally see what a game like that would be capable of on hardware that isnt based off of 2004 specs. Maybe it will get a proper review then.

I immensenly dislike COD , but i dont care about it being spammed and stopped . If anything i want it to succeed forever , so its public would keep finding their perfect mate , instead of complaining about different franchises not catering their needs .

I just find ridiculous the media complacency and free passes it gets for literally changing nothing over games , beyond weapons effects , when every other genres fall under nitpicking and scrutiny for the same flaws , often of lesser magnitude .

Even the immensely popular sports games would get flak when COD wouldnt . And those always at least improved their graphics and animations each year , when they do squat gameplay wise .

You often see that complaint about dynasty warriors , but the funny thing is most of those making it , hasnt known what's inside the game since at least DW2 and a few spin offs .

And you could always spot them easily ... they'd go on and on about it being always the same . Yet they wouldnt be able to spot a few of the latest gameplay changes for the serie . A few of them even being heavily criticized by fans of the serie .

So yeah basically people were complaining about changes from ep 5 and 6 that didnt exist -_- .

They wouldnt know that the entire combo and weapon system has changed each time since dw6 . And that they'd fail and look like fools trying to play it like previous iterations .

With that kind of superficial look most series would be "always be the same" . Only they get away with it because almost no one cares about about DW in the west to begin with

Also Dynasty Warriors vs will be my first DW, It seems to be a sequel of sorts to Samurai Warriors Chronicles, which I loved.

The first i'll get in eons will be One piece Musou . As stale and repetitive the DW gameplay is usually thought off , it's perfect for anime adaptation like One Piece , when well done .

While I can (and often have) echoed your sentiments, it's worth pointing out that Musou games have a very distinctive feel for more than a decade now--the same feel you get when you see game released on the same engine.

It's sort of like Oblivion and Skyrim--sure, Skyrim has some improvements... but the basic engine is still very recognizable: it's clear the the developers didn't put much work into the "sequel." And it's not as though this is an ever-present problem for developers who re-use the same engines, even decade-old ones: just look at the massive success and versatility of Unreal, or the fact that CD Projekt Red was able to craft a gem like The Witcher out of the unstable garbage of the Aurora Engine.

The simple fact of the matter is that the Musou games offer GREAT premises, but the change is so slow and incremental that it feels as though that potential will NEVER be realized.

And, sadly, it's all the harder to voice complaints like this one in the face of the legions of casual, ignorant gamers that deride the series without having any real experience with it.

Sonic is like Mario, both are legends regardless to the rollercoaster the first is/was having.

i can understand the frustration behind but as long as there are people playing and enjoying these games why would you wish to deny them this fun?
