How to Download PSP Titles to PS Vita

PS Vita will begin making its way into gamers’ hands in just a few short days! Day one Vita owners will have many, many games to choose from, with 25 titles announced for launch on February 22nd. Actually, make that 26 — Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus is now a confirmed launch title as well.

I`m glad it is, even though I`m keeping my PSP.

However I wanted to get Corpse party really bad, but memory card has little left. Doesn`t make sense buying a new one.

The first edition will allow me to play it on my Vita.

As i see it, it is best to keep the PSP for the UMDs, and anything digital get it for the Vita.

I just find it funny that the two downloaded games I do have, LBP and Modnation Racers, aren't included. None of the four games you could get for free from the psn hack are on the list actually.

I could see why Modnation isn't included because a new one's a launch title but they're all Sony published titles so why wouldn't they include the other ones?

Hopefully they add them in the future at least.

I have both of those games too from the Welcome Back and worry not, they both work on Vita. I have them on my Vita right now and play them constantly while waiting for other Vita games to be available in my country.

Yeah the list was for the Vita's launch games.

You should be able to play whatever PSP games you have on the Vita.

MaxXAttaxX4466d ago (Edited 4466d ago )

It was clearly stated in the article.

Did you skip everything and went right to the list or something? lol

JaredH4466d ago (Edited 4466d ago )

"Even better, if you’ve already downloaded a compatible PSP title, you can download it directly onto your PS Vita at no extra cost (please note that some limitations do apply)."

I thought the word compatible meant only the games listed would work with the Vita and if you guys say this isn't true then that's good. AND YES I DID READ THE ARTICLE BEFORE I POSTED. It's actually not clear and doesn't state something like "all psp download titles are compatible." I read every article I post in not like some people...

wolokowoh4466d ago

@JaredH Look at comment #9. It's just the intial list. Most likely all of them will be/will eventually be compatible. Those are just the confirmed ones or the intial list to be expaned on. I rememember my 80gb PS3 I got Christmas 2007 didn't play DMC3 Special Edition and a year later I tried it and it played jut fine. Sony are good about slipping these things into updates and not telling you.

I hope they get PSX games working on the Vita soon because I'm dying to play FF7 on the go.

XperiaRay

blumatt4467d ago

Yeah I'm dying to play Final Fsntasy 8 on the go on my Vita. Squall/Rinoa love story and the main story keeps me coming back to that game.

Game4life4467d ago

all the downloadble final fantasies on the go. ftw

Drithe4466d ago

Wait! Wait! Wait! I thought the PS1 games COULD play on the Vita. You are saying they can't?

Redempteur4466d ago

they will ..just not at launch

Ulf4467d ago (Edited 4467d ago )

Sweet. I have about 10 games to download on day 1, it looks. 275 older PSP games at launch is.. pretty impressive.

I'll be downloading more like 20 games, if PS1 games are also available -- the article doesn't mention them specifically, but I'm guessing FF1-9 (excepting III) will be ready to go from the outset.

KUV19774467d ago

It's kind of funny that a lot of the big hitters are not in that list: Little Big Planet, Modnation Racers, Gran Turismo. They probably don't want to encourage people to buy the PSP versions when the VITA versions are around the corner. I don't care much for older games anyway with the exception of both God of War Titles that are luckily among the available titles.

GhostofHorizon4467d ago

Power Stone offers some mindless fun.

There are also bunch of good RPGs.
I probably won't be picking much up, if a Naruto Ultimate Ninja game jumps on there, might give that a go.

Though yeah, I'd much rather focuse on new Vita games, AR stuff looks interesting as well.

KUV19774467d ago (Edited 4467d ago )

This list here ( http://translate.google.nl/... ) suggests that the titles not in that list are still working... Maybe not buyable but from a previous download-list. I'm not going to buy older games but i will redownload already bought ones and the ones i received as promotional titles for my PSPgo.

It's great that there are 3 AR-games free in the package, plus in Berlin i also get Uncharted, Wipeout and Little Deviants for free to my console. Only problem is the included card is only 4GB. That holds Uncharted OR the other two games. I really need a 32GB card but they are sooo expensive and not even available in Europe at all. Will have to import.

Pixel_Enemy4467d ago (Edited 4467d ago )

Socom Fire Team Bravo 1 & 2, Final Fantasy Crisis Core...

^Also not on the list..

skrug4466d ago

since FF CC isn't on psn...

this list is composed of games that u can download directly from the PSV, other games are supported if u download from ps3.

MaxXAttaxX4466d ago

They'll keep adding PSP games every few weeks.
These are just the first batch of games available on the Vita on launch day SO FAR.

Neo Nugget4467d ago

This list reminds me of how badly we need Crisis Core on the Playstation Store, especially now that we're moving away from UMDs.

Please? :(

BISHOP-BRASIL4466d ago

I had FFCC on UMD and it was robbed in college, while I was playing futsal ("indoor soccer") with some friends.

My luck was that they took the PSP pouch from my backpack (which were in a corner, so anyone passing by could had got it), but a friend in the bleachers was playing GoW:CoO in my PSP, so they didn't got it. Unfortunately Castlevania X Chronicles and FF: Crisis Core were there (now I only have the cases).

I've been waitiing ever since for it to appear on PSN, let's hope it appears now, I'm yet to finish it.

wolokowoh4466d ago

and Birth By Sleep. Square needs to get the rest of their PSP library digital or give us some Vita remasters. Still waiting on Type-0 to be localized.

Rolling the Dice: Do Modern RPGs Miss the Point of Team-Based Play?

It seems it was long time ago. A bunch of friends spending hours on end playing RPG games, sitting around the table with the box of cold pizza. Excited about the story, listening to the Game Master, they were completely engaged in the worlds only visible to them and their imaginations.

The GM is the programmer, and in MMOs and co-ops, you can play with others. If you want to ONLY use your imagination for the visuals, read a book.

Feature: GamerKnights Game Of The Year 2016 - GamerKnights

Game Of The Year 2016:   2016 has been another fantastic year for gaming. Whilst the sheer number of games coming out has probably declined again, the overall quality is up – the only thing really missing nowadays is solid experiences ‘in the middle’ – everything is either big-budget, ‘AAA’ games or smaller indie titles, with few episodic titles sat as a kind-of, sort-of bridge rather uncomfortably in the middle. Whilst that’s a shame for the industry in general, there’s still been loads of great titles this year, perhaps most notably five fantastic shooters in Doom, Gears, Battlefield, Call of Duty & Titanfall, all of whom take their respective games in new directions and improve over their predecessors in meaningful ways. As ever, each of our main writers have listed out their own personal top five games of the year – enjoy and please leave a comment if you disagree!
