Rumor: Star Wars: Battlefront III in Development at Spark Unlimited, Coming This Year

please be true and please dont get CODized, if so just forget about making it seriously. I want splitscreen coop and versus just like the others. Same set up like the other games (garrisons, bases etc) If they add other stuff keep it separate.

This is only a rumor, but its been on the internet for nearly a year or two and Spark doesn't deny. It only antagonizes it. So its possible. I wouldn't doubt it. I just wonder if it will evolve with these consoles or will it be same old same old. They have added a Sneak peak section on their website. Likely they will announce at GDC or E3 2012 whatever they are developing.

Although. Rebellion also has an unannounced Third Person Shooter under development for PC, PS3, X360, and Vita. So...

Raven is also developing a new game. 5th generation of Jedi Knight game? Yes there have been 4 titled JK or maybe something else.

I hope if they do make Battlefront 3 either way. They take Battlefield 2 as inspiration and amp it up to a new level if possible. Say mix some Battlefield 3 elements without the COD mix.

Way I see it either way this project is Star Wars related and 100% tied to either Jedi Knight or Battlefront.

i dont care what metacritic says either it just acuritly gauges what CRITICS say. A criticly aclaimed game in my oppinion is a game witha averege score of 90 or better. im not saying they shouldnt be aclaimed as id give both a 9/10

It might not be critically acclaimed, but it IS publicly acclaimed (dont have a clue what that means).

Critics tend to go with the flow. They are too afraid of being, in a sense, different from the rest. Think of all critics as friends, something trends, they all follow it. Not one would dare to turn away and say that it is a bag of crap (apart from the odd few).

Battlefront I and II should be 10/10. It is rare I play perfect games and to be honest, those two are perfect. Along with games such as GTA San Andreas.
I cant think of any 'perfect' game this gen :(
lets hope battlefront III will be that missing game we've all waited for.

As a legend on the PS2 version, I have to say that it's too little too late as far as SWBF3 is concerned. If anyone here ever played competitively on the PS2 you'll know what I mean. The game had such a tight knit community.

My clan had a rented dedicated server and I remember having some epic clan matches. Anyone remember Sonic Army? or their tournaments?

Good times, but a new game would eliminate what was so great about the franchise. 3 or 4 different developers later is never a good thing for a game.

Had Haze not flopped so bad, that company wouldn't have went out of business and they could have finished SWBF3.

No to DICE, they have such a terrible history of releasing buggy, laggy, unfinished games. It usually takes upwards of 6 months of patches after release before the game becomes how it should have been. And that engine (FB2), not optimized at all for consoles. Too much contrast.

It would make sense given the anniversary of Star Wars. Having something like this come out this year certainly would be "good" timing... but I wont hold my breath quite yet. I have had my hopes for this game dashed before.

yea its too bad free radical went under because of sony's shit marketing for Haze. If they would have not gone exclusive anough people would have got Haze for 360 and pc it might have saved the company. Either way star wars has long been shit so hey w.e in my book.

They had some impressive tech ideas on the game they even released after words. Bottom line if you buy this crap it most likely will blow. The only bf3 I want is by free radical the people who worked on such games as time splitters 1,2,3 and golden eye for the n64 *large part of free radical did have involvement*.

I was just about to say the same thing. CoD:FH was one of the worst games I have ever played in my life and I thought Turning Point looked horrible and like a waste of money so I never bought it.
