Even the nonfoggy/cloudy scenes look... fuzzy

OpenGL4488d ago

Is that even really a new screen shot? They released a set of these back in 2006 that were very similar.

The two I posted are in a higher resolution with much better compression.

Those are from the early PC version that was cancelled (you know, when Alan Wake was supposed to be an open-world game). This new one is from the recent build of the new PC version

I know that Remedy is saying it is a new screen shot but you have to admit, it does look pretty similar to those two I posted from the old PC build.

Was the game even good on the Xbox? should it be on a PC gamers radar?

@below

I am primarily a PC gamer too, i dont own any of the consoles. Hence thanks for the heads up, i may pick this up.

It's f***ing awesome!

OpenGL4488d ago

I am primarily a PC gamer, I own the 360 version of Alan Wake, and intend to buy the PC re-release as well which I think says enough.

SKUD4488d ago (Edited 4488d ago )

I own the X360 version and IMO I was very disappointed. From the in-game ads (lincon, microsoft sync, verizon and energizer) to the clunky shooter controls, the story they try to peddle isn't much. The game is decent at best. I couldn't bare to finish it though. Remedy should release a PC demo for those on the fence.

emmerin4488d ago

alan wake was awesome, anybody who never experienced it before should pick this up if they like thrillers. And if you own a 360 and have been on the fence about it, you can buy the game for under $20 at most places.

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

Tacoboto26d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia27d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie27d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos27d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie27d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh27d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

A thermos is upending the Alan Wake community

Remedy has Alan Wake merch on sale, including a pretty blue thermos. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone according to plan, and many players who want a thermos find themselves without one, though it does appear that Remedy is attempting to fix things. Nevertheless, it has resulted in a lot of upset, illustrating just how much the thermos means to Alan Wake fans.
