IGN - Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 is not a game. It's an interactive fitness product that utilizes the Kinect sensor (sold separately) in combination with the Xbox 360 to track your movements while you work out. It's a fancy idea, but if you're looking for that "magic bullet" to get in great shape it won't do that for you on its own. Your Shape 2012 is largely focused on creating a personal training experience for you, or providing those potentially embarrassing classes in the privacy of your own living room. In this sweet spot, as a Kinect-powered product, it delivers. Where it has room to evolve is in the realm of variety, quality personal feedback, and improvements to its ability to "see you."
Ben Wright of GamersBliss.com Writes:
"My usual morning routine goes as follows:
1. Wake up, begrudgingly, and go make myself breakfast, egg-white omelet with spinach and sriracha sauce and some turkey bacon.
2. Watch some news programs as I eat.
3. Play videogames for an hour.
4. Shower
5. Start working.
A lot of people reading this are probably curious: “you play videogames for an hour every morning?!” Well yeah, I can’t wake up without it, leads to a more productive day, and it’s a great way to stay in shape!"
That will do it... or you could just get an MMO to run your life without seeing sunshine for weeks.
Ya can see how games will make you lose weight. I mean when i game i go hours without thinking about food or even snacking on crap. TV though makes you fat.
LOL that pic. You know I've seen that movie too much when I remember the lines...
"...And pivot, serve and shift"
GamerFitNation's John writes about 4 ways to improve Exergaming. "When Nintendo launched the Wii in 2006, it took the world by storm. Bundled together with Wii Sports, it didn’t take long to realize that you could get your heart rate going in a heated game of Tennis, or give your arms a good workout while Boxing. Casual and hardcore gamers soon found out it was quite possible to get a decent workout from this console. Motion controls pioneered by the Wii started a trend called “Exergaming”
Nothing can improve exercise games. They will always be lame and uneffective. If you want to lose weight, run on a tredmill like a normal person.
