Codemasters creating 'new engine technology' for upcoming unannounced FPS

GGTL: "While it may have been a slightly messy sort of game, Codemasters' Operation Flashpoint: Red River fared admirably with the critics, which is no mean feat considering that, apparently, it was fused together in just under a year....However, Codemasters seem keen not to carry on this trend - the next Action Studio title has time on its side and brand new science turning its cogs."

If anyone can pull a decent FPS out of the bag, I reckon it's Codies.

Adexus4483d ago

Really? I can't think of one FPS that they made which was any good, Bodycount was playable I suppose.

PhilipLarkin4483d ago

They've got a good track record with games (mostly sport and racing), but FPS glory has always eluded them. Still,m it's bound to happen at some stage with their expertise and if they put enough effort into it.

I enjoyed a good bunch of hours playing dragon rising MP. Hopefully they can build on the franchise. MP this time please.

Dragon Rising was pretty good. Very inaccessible but once you got used to the controls and everything it was a blast to play. Definitely the most realistic shooter on consoles to this day. My favourite level was the 10th I believe where you had to snipe with the thermal scoped 50 cal. I'll see if I can find a video.

ive never played a game by codemasters that i REALLY liked. Everything they produce is over hyped and medi-ocre at best... So really, who cares, lol @ codemasters

Apologies, don't know how the above comment ended up here while it clearly should have gone to other article about the Sony lay-offs. Please delete.
