Max Payne 3 Release Date Confirmed

Rockstar have announced today that Max Payne 3 is expected to launch on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 15, 2012 in North America and May 18, 2012 internationally; and for the PC on May 29, 2012 in North America and June 1, 2012 internationally.

Probably the time they will use to tweak the game for PC, leaving us with an unoptimized mess (like every Rockstar game on PC this gen). Thanks, guys.

EDIT: sorry if that comes off as harsh, but this sin't exactly good news for PC gamers. It is coming out for consoles first, which is a sign that it's going to be a console port. Since the originals were PC first, it's somewhat irksome. The 15 day delay is also a sign that this is the time they will use to optimize it for the platform. Batman: AC followed a similar path, and while it can look nice with the eye-candy turned on, it was TERRIBLY optimized, and 2 months later it remains as such. It's just not a good sign.

Too bad for the delay, i'm looking forward to picking this up. But I guess a may release date for Max Payne means we can officially debunk the rumor that GTA5 was possibly gonna drop in May '12. No way R* would realease those two games in the same month, less likely in the same quarter. GTA 5 will probably be out for holiday '12 if not winter/spring of 2013.

Yeah sounds like GTA5 might get released in the holiday. I would say 2013 but, come on its GTA it can survive the likes of halo and a new Cod. The game will easily sell 20 to 25 mill copies.

LOL Rockstar would not kill their own franchise in sales against both Halo and CoD, one of which is a multi-platform selling beast.

I'm guessing GTA V will be a spring 2013 release so they have the quarter and the time frame ALL to themselves.

Well yeah 2013 spring release date could happen. But honestly GTA is as big as Cod and Halo. GTA is one of the most recognized games of all time. I admit, it probably won't hit 20 to 25 mill. But it most likely will outsell Halo but get gun shy with cod. Spring 2013 is most reasonable even Take 2 know cods (hate saying this) bigger than GTA.

GTA has consistently been the top selling game on any platform its been on. It was doing 15 mil' when COD was still in WW2. Halo hasn't sold 10 mil since 2007 when there was no competition. Wars and Anniversary are just over/under 2 mil.

Games move from GTA, not the other way around.

I am pretty sure this will be a good game, I just wish it would look a bit more like Max Payne 1&2 and not be set in Brazil, but will still enjoy it I am sure

Actually, after seeing the movie Elite Squad I kind of like that it's set in Brazil...

Now if Rockstar ain't cheap with the mod tools maybe we can get a BOPE mod and turn Max into a Skulls Trooper....*drools*

Looking good so far... let's how it goes. Can't wait to see some new gameplay :) I actually like the setting, i went to brazil once and i always thought that the setting was great to see in a game, and Max Payne can be one of the best examples, where this setting would be great
