Charles Onyett: A Top 10 PC Games of 2012 list was recently published on IGN, and I noticed quite a few comments complaining that most of the games were multiplatform. So here you go, a list of games that will only be available on PC. The list below is very far from comprehensive, but includes many games currently expected to be released in 2012. Some titles, like Diablo III, might show up on other platforms, but for now are PC exclusives.
It's also possible not all these games will be completed before the year is over, but we can hope.
Who says a dud game can't have a video game comeback?
Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.
Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.
Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?
Diablo III: Season 28 brings with it the Altar of Rites, an altar full of unlockable bonuses and potions that will require the gathering of tons of resources. One of things needed is the Staff of Herding, which also unlocks the famous Cow Level known as Whimsyshire. Here's how to craft that staff, for those that either have forgotten, or have never completed it.
What a totally awesome list of Exclusives for 2012!
But they forgot:
Natural Selection 2
Grim Dawn
WildStar
Carrier Command: Gaea Mission
Super Monday Night Combat
Overgrowth
X-Rebirth
Project C.A.R.S.
Once again it looks like another year of no games to play on the PC.....might as well buy an iPhone and some iOS games.
haha i love those people that say pc gaming is dead and this year is by far going to be the strongest, witcher 2, bf3, skyrim and swtor all sold more than 1 million some of them are at 2 million already. Those are just a few examples of pc gaming being more than alive, and its only getting better this year.
