"NFL Blitz is an exercise in nostalgia. People who loved NFL Blitz in ’97 will find a lot to enjoy in this installment, but they’ll really be the only ones who will appreciate it. Without the name attached to it, this game would be seen as a cheap, overpriced knock-off of the NFL brand, with little to offer in the way of fun or content. Once the novelty of nostalgia and slapstick humor wears off, there really isn’t anything here worthwhile." Jake Weston, Associate Editor

Westapo of Gaming Rebellion goes over two of his favorite non-Madden games that are still a ton of fun to play: Tecmo Super Bowl or the NES and NFL Blitz for PS3/Xbox 360. Both games hold up remarkably well.
When NFL Blitz rebooted under EA Sports in 2012, with the franchise's creator back on the case, it lacked nearly all of the oomph that made the 1997 original so appealing, even to non-sports fans. No late hits, no over-the-top bodyslams. Quarterbacks weren't really sacked so much as they were shoved to the ground. Receivers were hip-checked and stumbled to the turf.
You can definitely select which receiver you throw to, by pushing the LS left, right or center. While this can sometimes be difficult, you can change the controls to a more traditional option with face buttons.
Might want to sit down and play a game for more than an hour before writing a review.
That said, I was a little disappointed by the game, I'd probably give it a 7/10.
Haha, I guess the Editor of this website agreed with me. Good to see.
