We’ve just come out of one of the most incredible years of gaming history, it’s impossible to dispute the importance that 2011 will have on future generations. When we look back on our time as gamers in later decades, this time will be the era which defines our experiences with the medium, to turn this explanation into a rather clichéd analogy; if the gaming industry was a person, this’d be one bitching puberty.
We’re now able to play Grand Theft Auto III , a game that’s been cited frequently as a masterpiece, and one of the defining titans of the PS2 era, on our phones. Technology has made leaps and bounds, as we’re becoming comfortable with everyday technology that we thought only possible in The Minority Report. We’re able to stream video games like we would a YouTube video, and we’re only at the tip of the iceberg.
