U3 gets another one

Skyrim got the most GOTY awards this year, followed by U3 and Zelda

was always thinking GOTY was going to split the media this year, its going to be what kind of game the reviewer likes most.

and by the way Zelda wasn't nominated, Epic Fail!

TBM4525d ago (Edited 4525d ago )

lol no the order is

skyrim
portal 2
batman
zelda
uncharted 3

here's a link to a site where one guy gets all the info tallied up.

http://gotypicks.blogspot.c...

congratz to ND on the win. looks like GT made up for the mistake they made back in 2009 not giving it to U2 then.

edit
so instead of just clicking on the link to see what i said is true i get disagrees because some people here are afraid to be proved wrong. typical N4G for ya lol.

sigh skyrim.... the most over rated game of the year.

I don't trust "critics" goty's this year... because truth be told... the Skyrim ones piss me of.

1)Game comes out completely broken for one system.

2)Bethesda sends critics copies of versions that work....

3)critics eat it up because there is so much content...

4)however don't review the freaking broken version, all that content is not playable....

5)skyrim wins goty from dozens of media outlets...

6)thousands of gamers pissed of a Bethesda's douchebaggery...

That is why I don't trust critics with Skyrim...

It amazes me how a studio can get away with this crap constantly

The other games deserve those awards.... skyrim does not

Christopher4525d ago

@MsclMexican: I'm a massive fan of Naughty Dog and the Uncharted series. Massive. But, even I would give Skyrim GotY. It really does so much right and showed off what is to be expected out of the third gen and gave us a look at how things can be improved going into the next gen. It's a great open world game.

And I even own and play the PS3 version, which surprisingly works perfectly fine for me.

MsclMexican4525d ago (Edited 4525d ago )

@cgoodno

You must have a god mode disk or PS3 or something. I literally gave up on Skyrim.

Batman, Uncharted, Portal..... those games deserve GOTY....

And also I've never heard of most of those cites that were recorded

@TBM below

wow... I can name you almost every problem I have had in this game

1) Freezed on me over 20 times

2) People have conversations with me when I am invisible

3) Was not able to feed as a vampire(option never came up)

4) Constant frame-rate dips every time I enter a city

5)2 weddings ruined by "dead body glitch"

6) College of winterhold quest messed up on me
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Had to kill a kid then book it in order for the quest to finish

7) Ysolda died randomly on me making the "Night to remember quest not trigger"

8) Arrow got stuck in my characters face until patch 1.02

9) Backwards flying dragons

10) One dragon when to the very top of the skyrim map instantly when I attacked it... and reverted to what im guessing is the game modelling section( legs together... wings apart)

11) two days ago that dragon randomly fell from the sky and I got its soul

12) Game corrupted on me... wasting 3 hours of my playtime

13)PS plus has saved me from losing data

14) Lydia's head got stuck in Breezehome(that was the weirdest one)

I've had this many problems.... but my people on my friends lists have had more. I remember on Nov 11 when everyone played skyrim.... now everyone gave up on it and returned to replaying Batman or Uncharted and ACR....

I think I should do the same.... hell you know you get kicked in the balls when the skyrim torrent works better than the PS3 version.... almost 200 people play Skyrim at my school... only 4... including me bought it ... one of my friends even bought that 150 dollar edition with the dragon statue.... even he gave up on the game and he was the most excited out of all of us... He plays TOR on his pc now....

I wish bethesda made a game were everyone got a fair slice... not with it working for some... and not for others...

I think Im gonna take a break from skyrim... play Assassins creed revelations... Im frankly sick of this crap

TBM4525d ago

i actually have the ps3 version of skyrim too, i havent had that many problems myself expect for it freezing on me 3 separate times lol. i hated both oblivion, and fallout but im quite enjoying skyrim. maybe its the dragons i like killing in the game lol.

Amphion4525d ago

I do not understand why people are disagreeing with TBM. All he did was post a link to a legitimate web site that tallies up all of the GOTY winners very thoroughly.

What is wrong with you people?

starchild4525d ago

Deus Ex Human Revolution should have won more GOTY awards in my opinion.

NewMonday4525d ago (Edited 4525d ago )

@TBM

wow! that's a big detailed list, i was just mentioning passively what i noticed in N4G

in my book its a tie between the first 5 in the list + Catherine

i also think that Portal would have gotten more awards if it released at the end of the year like the rest of the contenders.

@MsclMexican
i bet the critics played the PC or 360 version.

@MsclMexican: You have listed a lot of issues as if you have played Skyrim longer than any other games, lol.

Became a vampire, married twice and with people you have killed showing up to the wedding, College of Winterhold quest that lead you to kill a kid. Sounds to me like you have enjoyed it more than you like too.

Not to disagree with you but I'm still playing Skyrim on PS3 with all of it's bugs and it is still an awesome game to play. Although, I would love to see Portal 2 as GOTY.

miyamoto4525d ago

Yeah. And at least Game Trailers' awards system makes sense unlike that Spike TV joke show.

How can anyone justify that Skyrim won GOTY when it wasn't the Best game on any platform PC, PS3 or 360?

miyamoto4525d ago

I am looking at you too Play Station Life Style!

slutface4525d ago

Naughty Dog cannot be stopped!

megalonagyix4525d ago

Yeah.. still the GOTY is Skyrim.

xneoarcx4525d ago

Even Portal 2 wasn't nominated

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast45d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22945d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko45d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave45d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan45d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave45d ago (Edited 45d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
