I'm okay with this as it's much better than people saying Pirate Musou, I mean at least call it by it's proper japanese name.

Why does every Koei game have to fall under the Warriors title? It might actually deter people from getting the game. I know many people are not happy with Dynasty Warriors (or at least weren't until 7 came out) so calling all of your games "Warriors" is just going to put a needless bad taste in the mouths of gamers everywhere.

I think Koei would start seeing more sales if they JUST dropped the Warriors title. Call it something like One Piece: (subtitle of your choice)

With One Piece being so popular it would be stupid not to release in other areas.i mean its one of the top 3 animes currently airing. Not in my top 3 list but I know I cant watch any other anime without comments that this anime sucks one piece is better. It has a very annoying fan base that should be easy to make money from no matter what they call it.One piece "of crap" might not work though but never know.

The only time you'll ever hear that an anime sucks from one piece fans is if you watch a similar shounen like bleach or naruto, or just something that is competing with it in terms of sales. One Piece is my favourite anime but there are plenty of other animes that I like almost as much.

I started watching one piece but i just cant seem to get into it. I'm not sure why it has a good story, likable characters and good action scenes.I just cant get into it.
I hear them saying that about all kinds of new anime also. But your right it does seem far worse on the anime that are just as popular.

@Dark_king
What episode are you at?

rabidpancakeburglar4506d ago

I can understand not getting into an anime, I went into one piece expecting that it would be not that good because the premise of getting powers from fruit was really stupid but it's a very rewarding show as it gets better as it goes on.

7 Things About: One Piece: Pirate Warriors

Maul Squad: I’m a fan of the One Piece series, there, I’ve admitted it. I’ve watched the anime and I currently read the manga weekly when it’s been scanned and translated with many other mangas which I’m in the middle of reading. For anime inspired games, there are a couple of gems in the rough but I don’t really play anime inspired games for the same reason why nobody plays licensed movie games, they’re normally turd (I’m looking at you Gungrave) and only accessible for fans of the series. One Piece: Pirate Warriors falls head first into that category.

I'm a huge OP fan but the games are just boring, I've never liked the Dynasty Warriors games. I with this was more of an RPG or open world type game. The entire wave after wave after wave of the same things get so boring. I bought the first one but never made it past Choppers arc because I just wasn't having fun anymore.

Ginji3850d ago

Aye i know the feeling. I soldiered through, it gets better but not by much. Funnily enough if you have a PSP you can keep an eye out for One Piece: Romance Dawn which apparantly focuses more on the RPG element.

SeanScythe3850d ago

Oh wouldn't mind that for my PSvita

CrossingEden3849d ago

Pretty weird that AC4 is a better pirate game than a one piece game.

Is it so much to ask for a good game based on one of my favourite animes?I like the game but I can honestly say if it wasn't based on one piece it would suck to me.

Varzoth3849d ago

I loved this game, though I do agree with all of the negative points about it. The way the awesome story of the series was told in the game was indeed lame, and there were way too many QTEs. I agree though, if not for the One Piece stuff the game would be crap. One Piece is my favorite anime/manga though so I'll gobble up anything to due with it; I only had two coins left before I could platinum this one, and now if they would just lower the price of the second game, I would be all up in that right now.

"They have the original Japanese voice actors from the anime with no English language setting in sight (thank god) so for fans of the anime it’ll sit right with them."

....Unless of course fans of the anime also happen to like the English dub.

The SweetTooth one hands down it would be awesome if the eyes lit up as you turned on the PS3 :O.

I think the darksiders one looks pretty freaking awesome.Never played the game but that's a cool looking ps3

Blankman854229d ago

Say what you want about the game, but that Final Fantasy 13-2 PS3 is a thing of beauty.
I don't like what I'm seeing with the new super slim limited editions. They look like regular consoles with cheap stickers plastered along the surfaces that will stick.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors Review (Empty Lifebar)

Conceptually, I’ve always liked the idea of the manga and anime One Piece. That is: pirates are certainly cool, and to have them adhere to nontraditional antics is quite intriguing. Unfortunately, I’ve never gotten past even the first ten episodes; be it the art style or the sheer length of the series, I always lose my will to continue watching. Given that I am a much bigger fan of Dynasty Warriors and the many spinoffs, I was quite excited to get my hands on One Piece: Pirate Warriors.
