for me it was the KZ3 story trailer

NukaCola4530d ago

I thought that the Dead Island trailer was cheap and the use of a kid didn't give me chills at all. Gears 3 Brother til the end was a lot better and the inFAMOUS 2 trailer too. Hell Journey and Mass 3, Bioshock Infinite all presented much better. I also have to say that the Diablo 3 and Star Wars TOR trailers are some of the most amazingly put together trailers out there. CG like that rivals Square.

GodHandDee4530d ago

yep I'm not a huge fan of the Dead Island trailer either and I agree that there were many other more note worthy trailers than the ones in this video

zeroreloaded4530d ago

yea that was pretty good, too bad for the game not so much.

GodHandDee4530d ago

for me personally the kz3 sp did not meet the level of potential it had. However the MP is an absolute blast

1. The Last of Us
2. Prey 2
3. Diablo 3 trailer at the VGA's
4. BioShock: Infinite E3 walkthrough
5. Killzone 3 story trailer

Dead Island ranks as top worst trailer due to an incredibly misleading trailer for one of the ugliest, below average games of the year. The Last of Us destroyed it with in-engine footage.

inFamous 2 also had great trailers all around.

I repeat, Dead Island was utter trash.

lol some little girl dies and everyone thinks it's an emotional trailer...get a grip, man up. Goes to show you how effeminate our country has become, considering the fact the majority who watched the trailer are from the west.

MidnytRain4530d ago

Well, most people get a bit soft when the death of a child is involved. Sympathy and all that.

dark-hollow4529d ago (Edited 4529d ago )

its not about a little girl dying only!
the music, the presentation, playing in rewind while the family struggling with the zombies and all of that makes it a truly touching trailer.

come on people this is not about the games themselves or what game you are most excited for!!
even tho i didnt liked dead island but the trailer just blew everything out of the water!

@zeroreloaded

How old are you kid? 12? 13? I don't think you realize this now, but you're trying WAY too hard to make people think you're some sort of badass.

The mere fact that you're telling other people to "lose their femininity" says that you're scared of showing any emotion that isn't "manly". Kid, that makes you more cowardly and effeminate than even the biggest of pussies.

I can understand some people not feeling emotional about the Dead Island trailer, but for you to go out of your way to call everybody effeminate just says more about you and you're obvious insecurities as a man, so much so that you need to go out of your way to prove it to other people by insulting them with ridiculous comments.

Diablo 3 and Dota 2 had great trailers and I love the SR3 one(watch it again after you beat it, you will relies so much stuff you didn't notice the first time)

Snakester954530d ago

I'd have to look through some trailers again, but I'm definitely with them on choosing Dead Island. It grabbed the audience, although I think it may of riled them up for a bit of disappointment. I loved Dead Island, although a trailer promising an incredible story, let me down.

The Last Of Us is the best trailer of 2011

The prevalence of parrying: Why is it so popular?

Parrying has been creeping into more games, with almost every high-profile title of the last few years featuring it in some way.  Why?

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

Dudeson57d ago (Edited 57d ago )

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
