Anime Courtyard | FFXI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition Review

Mario writes: Months ago Square Enix released a new Final Fantasy XI compilation for the PC via digital distribution (Steam), named “Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition”. What’s most notorious is a lack of a Xbox 360 release, but expected, as there is an “Ultimate Collection” available for the console lacking only the Abyssea battle scenarios and may not be worth a new hard media release at least not now.

Was a GREAT game... Several years ago, I would not however, pick it up now since early game is absolutely dead. Tried making a bloody WHM, if that didnt get me a group, nothing would.

Empty Lifebar takes on Final Fantasy XI (August 1, 2012)

As we dove into Week Two of our journey in the world of Vana’diel, we decided to tackle what every Final Fantasy XI player should do as soon as they can, our Chocobo Licenses. This consisted of us working up the money to purchase 4 clumps of Gausebit Grass and then sitting for around 5-6 hours next to a Chocobo until it would finally let us feed it. the time it took to do things in ffxi was one my favorite and worst things about the game. it was hard waiting days weeks months for whatever item or quest you were trying to get, but the sense of accomplishment after all is said and done was something few games could match imo.

Geeks of Rage : Episode 40

Sometimes you need a little break. Like a weekend in Atlanta. Or 22/24 hours a day in an MMORPG. Or a 6-month-long backwards jaunt towards the roots of a game franchise. We finally managed to pry ourselves from the things we love though, and we recorded another show instead. It’s a worthwhile session too, complete with insinuated rape, killer nuns from the fifth dimension, and fake thugs eating Chick-fil-a out of Rolls Royces. We do not play on this show.

Geeks of Rage : Episode 39

"Whether your flavor of the day is a tasting platter of bacon strips, or Max Payne 3, GoR has got you covered. Enjoy your day off this week by relaxing and listening while we take control of the old jabber-machines and conduct the closest thing to a review we’ve ever come and likely will for some time. Especially since Mike has relapsed into his old MMO ways and will likely wind up in a clinic soon. Enjoy that discussion too. It’s all about feeling better about your life. Enjoy."
