Valve has been quiet for some time now. I wonder when we'll ever see an Half Life 3, although with the way things ended in Episode 2, I feel like they need to make ends meet in Episode 3 rather than a brand new HL 3.

Speaking of Half Life, I wonder how progress is coming along on the Black Mesa mod...

Sounds like a smart idea, cause let's face it, the PS3 and XBOX both didn't look that great with the Orange box. My PC can make those games look a hell of a lot better than the XBOX or PS3 does.

The Source Engine certainly isn't outdated. It's constantly been updated with new technology and features. The update that came with Portal 2 was true dynamic lighting and other fun stuff.

It still doesn't compete with the big hitters such as Cryengine and Frostbite, Valve should go for a cutting edge source engine 2 while still allowing the user to cut back on graphics and tech to improve performance, give the powerful PC's a treat :D

the janitor seen in this picture wearing the Half Life 3 T-shirt was fired today by Valve.

This T-shirt was giving to him as a "Gag Prize" for finishing dead last in the Valve Corp inner office TF2 competition.

He was only allowed to wear said T-shirt at work on "even more casual than usual Fridays" but him wearing it out in public has cause Valve unnecessary expectations and questioning about The Half Life series while Valve concentrates on other projects!

Half Life 2 was so good that HL3 will never be made!

WTF LOL? Are you serious? Does Gordon Freeman even have a voice? You mean the voice actor of Dr Breen! Yes, true he died last year, but that won't stop Valve from bringing Dr Breen back, let alone cancel the next Half-Life. Like they did with Bill in L4D2 The Sacrifice (they killed him because his voice actor was put in jail), they will make Dr Breen mutate into a combine and have his voice changed; nothing that difficult.

They killed him because they knew it would kill L4D once and for all, whats worse then ditching support from your game then killing a much loved character in a group of a well developed cast who are miles better then any L4D2 character.

If you can actually admit that Valve made a mistake by not coming through for L4D, not supporting it, lying about new TF2 styled updates, releasing a sequel so early so they can get rid of L4D and then lying that the small amounts of content in L4D2 couldn't be an update or DLC.....then you know it's Valves biggest mistake.............or you could keep going on that Valve is perfect and make up an excuse for Bills death that the actor is in jail, dead or is in a mental hosptial.

Yes I truly hope so. With Source Engine 2 that will make all current engines look like Game'n Watch games. Half-Life 3 with Source Engine 2 will have the same impact that Half-Life2 with Source Engine had when shown for the fisrt time.

The shirts and pics are real. Multiple people have spotted Valve employees with these shirts.

I doubt it really means anything though, all Valve does is troll their fans, so don't expect some mythical HL3/EP3 announcement or anything soon. This is a viral-marketing-esque way to keep the game's existence in everyone's heads.

Half Life 3 is likely in development years. I think Valve are looking at what's out there and trying to innovate again with the series. Financially they're fine because of steam's success and franchises like Portal and L4D and therefore they're free to release it whenever they choose. Episode 3 will probably come out next year or in 2013 and Half Life 3 will likely be a next gen title using the new Source engine. I truly believe it will be the breath of fresh air the fps genre needs if not the best shooter ever made.

I remember when HL2 was first showcased and the source engine wowwed everyone. Breaking tables and have it breaking into smaller interactive pieces was so revolutionary back then!
