I know this is a rumor, but I really hope he didn't leave. The video game industry is already stagnant enough with all of these shooter games.

theonlylolking4565d ago

You are only paying attention to the shooter games. If you search around you will see that there are tons of games that are innovative and are not shooters.

crxss4565d ago

Ueda's 41?? ಠ_ಠ

he's still going to make games and that's all that matters right?

gaffyh4565d ago

HUGE loss for the team if true. I can't see him leaving for no reason, there must be something else going on. I mean, Sony gave him a big chance with Ico and SOTC, I don't see him giving up on that.

RememberThe3574565d ago

gaffyh: I was thinking the same thing. Sony is the reason anyone knows who this guy even is. They gave him a chance when no one else would have. They may have made the choice for him though. His game take forever to release and this project has probably taken longer to produce and coasted more money then Sony has originally intended. As business men as well as "creative facilitators" (I like that lol) they have to be torn on what to do about it. Maybe it's best this way. We'll just have to wait and see.

nveenio4564d ago

I wonder what the source for this is.

zeddy4564d ago

i think he's had a knock on the door from microsoft.

Army_of_Darkness4564d ago

Yes there is lots of fps out there, but if you actually look carefully enough you'll also notice quite a few other types of games, more so if you have a ps3 due to its exclusives. I personally have yet to play any of this guys games so it won't really effect me one bit.

The day Fumito Ueda leaves Team Ico is the day I quit gaming.

TOO PAWNED4565d ago

liar you won't quit so stop writing bs

Majin-vegeta4565d ago

Yea man hopefully not he has made two of the best story driven art game's i have ever played.

Papertiger4564d ago (Edited 4564d ago )

Maybe for you perhaps and your "kind" this seems nice logicwins, but NOTHING about this is in any way shape or form nice. Fumitio Ueda is one of a handful of creative game genius's in a gaming world filled with generic FPS garbage.

N4g_null4564d ago

Sweet maybe he can team up with other creative developers and go multiplform!

It's strange, I can't imagine him leaving at the most crucial point in his own projects development. It just seems so strange for Ueda, who is so passionate about his games to do something like that. Especially when its his most ambitious yet. I don't know what to say :/

Dante1124565d ago (Edited 4565d ago )

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Ueda doesn't seem like the type to just quit on his projects or leave it to other people. Almost like Kazunori Yamauchi in a way where his games take extra time to develop because he wants his game to be perfect in his eyes.

Edit: Kinda surprised that no one has hit his twitter yet lol

TVippy4565d ago

It's far from the most crucial - it's a QA stage.

-Alpha4565d ago

I agree, I am shocked and so saddened to hear it, I don't see how Team ICO can do without him and hope that his "Freelance" position doesn't mean "Don't care about the direction of the game"

PshycoNinja4565d ago

NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

*mind explodes*

nondecaf4565d ago (Edited 4565d ago )

I think this is more fitting.

chiwoo4565d ago

Lets just hope this is not true i am a huge fan of his games.

I've played 15, and I wouldn't consider any of those underrated TBH. Some of them are pretty high rated.

banger88170d ago

That's amazing, Gamingbolt actually put all 15 games on the same page.

shinoff2183169d ago

I. Not seeing anything on that list underrated. I never played concrete genie, the ASTRO vr,and one other but I forgot the name already. Nothing on there was underrated at all imo.

persona4chie169d ago

There’s only 4 of those games I never played, and no most of those aren’t underrated.

Shadow Of The Colossus Director Expecting To Reveal New Game In 2023

Fumito Ueda, the director of Shadow of the Colossus, is looking forward to announcing his anticipated project in 2023.

gaffyh516d ago

Loved every game by him, so really want to see what this one will be

crazyCoconuts512d ago

Coincidentally I just downloaded SotC to play a few days ago. Last Guardian was kinda magical in a way.

deleted516d ago (Edited 516d ago )

I'd like to see a remaster of The Last Guardian. I was really enjoying it, but there were some serious camera and performance issues. A remaster could address those issues and truly make the game shine!

I'm really looking forward to next title announcement!

isarai516d ago

Really excited to see what there first game as an independent studio is going to be. Honestly Ueda is my favorite game director of all time (as you might tell from my profile pic) something about his games just hit this really special note with me and never fail to make me feel like a kid discovering a new sense of wonder.

jznrpg516d ago

Oooh . If this is out 2023 , more games keep coming . Shit it’s too much

The Last Guardian Is One of Gaming’s Most Beautiful Depictions of Friendship

Friendship is hard to depict accurately, but The Last Guardian does a good job of showing all its ups and downs through Trico and the boy.

Technical issues aside, this is easily one of my favorite games from last gen.

ClayRules2012854d ago (Edited 854d ago )

I couldn’t agree more. I’ll never forget the emotional experience I had with this game. After waiting all those years, and than to finally play it. It was a visual beauty, along with offering a story/friendship between the 2 characters that was unique and unforgettable. Far surpassed my expectations. A masterpiece!

Technical issues aside, never have I played anything quite like it!

Magog854d ago

I enjoyed the game but it started out too simple and easy. If the entire game was as intense and challenging as the last 20% it would have been a 10/10 experience.

EvertonFC854d ago

Great game, so underrated. One of my favourites and top 20 games of all time

Phoenix76854d ago

I managed to grab the collectors edition for £40 about a year after it released. Was an enjoyable game, but I had just finished Shadow of the colossus, and whilst I enjoyed it, it was not as good when compared.
