GamePro: Tom Chick explains how one of Halo's most hated levels is actually one of the best levels in any videogame.
Remember the days of four-player couch co-op? The Wealth of Geeks team certainly does. This list brings us back to the golden years of the original Xbox with the best four-player games that were available.
Have you ever looked at a modern first-person shooter and wondered "How did we get here?" Wealth of Geeks performs a deep dive into the genre, including some of the most influential games, from the very first FPS from the cross-genre experiences that changed the game entirely.
GF365: "I'd advise against reading this article if you just had your lunch. Here are the most disgusting enemies in games."
The Callisto Protocol has some gross ones as did the Doom, Dead Space, and Quake games.
That had to be one of the worst list I have ever seen.. The flood from Halo makes the list? Left for dead? Terrible list… they didn’t even mention silent hill or Bloodborne. Obviously they haven’t played too many games.
I liked the Library - Esp because of the Flood being in it being in a hall with 30 of those things and a shot gun
Good Times
I loved that level.
So much fun on legendary, and SO frustrating. But not as annoying as Cortana in Halo 3. Or about 80% of Halo 2 with the near-invincible sword wielding golden elites round every corner lol.
The library was incredibly lazy game design and a stain on an otherwise flawless game. The entire level is the complete opposite of what you'd been doing up to that point. You're thrown into this beautiful open world game for 10 hours, then forced to dick around in id-like corridors for what seems like an eternity.
Only a douche like Tom Chick would defend something as awful as the library from HCE and call us whiners for hating it. Thanks Tom, for reminding me that Halo CE made the mistake of including an entire level that played out like all of those clown car moments from CoD.
In the Library's defence, it did add alot of tension.
Although I do agree alot of it was frustrating, but nowhere near as frustrating as the High Charity level in Halo 3 where you have to rescue Cortana.
Finished this level a couple days ago, just as frustrating as it was 10 years ago.
