GamingUnion.net: "When looking at this fall's leading titles, Assassin's Creed: Revelations was one of the titles that stood out from the pack. Unlike many of the other games, which we knew would have fantastic gameplay and contain great stories, Revelations had the potential to set itself apart due to its continuation of the canon that has gripped so many over the past few years. "
"Hello everyone, we have more details to share concerning the upcoming decommissioning of online services affecting several AC titles, including additional information regarding the DLC for these titles."
When will you decommission this new one? I’m only asking so I can be happier by not buying it at full price.
The dog Chorizo from FAR CRY 6 has wheelchair legs, so is hardly a decommissioned pet. In fact very useful for digging up dirt.
Xfire writes "Worldbuilding is a crucial part of any story. It's not an easy task to create a believable setting with its own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations and then weave a story into the said setting. Luckily, storytellers and video game writers don't always need to create complex settings when we've got history books as thick as Big Chungus.
Historical eras make a fabulous setting for video games. They've already got the world-building nailed, complete with their own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations. Honestly, I don't think I need to justify the fact that historical eras make an amazing setting for video games. If you don't believe me, just go ahead and play the Ghost of Tsushima or any of the Assassin's Creed games."
The first crusade would be pretty sweet. I’d probably enjoy any of those on your list if they were done respectfully. Like not some dork in Portland making a Russian Revolution game.
Benin Empire, Far East, Central America. Games are pretty biased toward Europe, North America, and the Middle East. There is a very big world out there.
Fans of Assassin’s Creed will want to check out a new Build Your Own Bundle featuring ten different games from Ubisoft’s popular action-adventure franchise.
You know a game comes out too often when we’re getting BYOB (Build-your-own-bundle) deals! And this cheap? Good deal for parkour lovers! Haha!!
What Ill be doing for valhalla, wait for a sale. Ac and far cry games go really cheap pretty quick. Picked up fc5 for $5 and Odyssey for $10.
Or just wait til Ubisoft gives em out for free lol. they've practically given out all the AC games for free, as well as both Watch Dog games, and Rayman. Ubisoft is weird
Haven't finished it yet, although I've put in around 20 hours now probably, but I felt this way with Brotherhood (although I seemed to be in a minority then). I don't think the majority think this but a lot of people are beginning to see and feel the burn-out AC is going through with Revelations and how little progress has been made in 4 games in 5 years. Combat hasn't changed bar addition of weaponry and whatnot (but it's always been almost always down to the simple attack to break enemies's defense, or counter), AI is really, really lacking, music and buildings and well so much is just being re-used, and it has to be for Ubisoft to be putting out this many titles in such a short period of time. The story is still good but despite how much I like it it's obviously just being dragged out and it saddens me that I don't feel that fussed with ACIII and concluding Desmond's story right now.
When Ubisoft said they wanted to go back to 2 year breaks like that which they took between AC and ACII I felt almost elated at the news because it will give them time to make real adjustments and additions that they need... and then they said "we'll do that... AFTER ACIII". Of course I can understand why they want to release ACIII next year for a number of reasons but it's a shame the final title of this series (or at least this part of the series) probably won't be of the quality it deserves to be. (I'm sure the story will be fine though, unless Ubisoft want to drag things out even further that is.)
You make some really good points here. I too was fairly disappointed in Revelations.. tbh, after Patrice left I think they would've been better off waiting.. although maybe since they have, now they know what no-nos to keep out :P
Patrice Desilets and Jade Raymond need to come back to make AC3 the best game of 2012, also a release date of mid December instead of november would give the team more time to make it the best game possible!
wait wait wait... I thought ubi said that work on ac3 has started since 2...
You know whats fairly disappointing? A game like this got so much criticism... yet the yearly spawn of a certain game called CoD got free passes.
I don't know but it bugs me to hear people say, " oh i'm burned out by ac." but like no one is burned out by cod?
Maybe its my hardcore fan in me, but Revelations definitely sits by 2 as the best in the series...
I was kind of disappointed with Revelations, until I got to the ending. I absolutely loved the ending.
My problems with Revelations are the unnecessary additions to the game. Den defense isn't fun at all. It sucks even more that you're basically forced to do it. Why are you forced to do it? Because every time you renovate buildings, your awareness is raised. Oh I'll just go rip down my wanted poster. Oh wait, there are no wanted posters now, just the stupid Heralds and witnesses or whatever has that eye icon.
Also, the pacing was off, but I'll attribute that partly to my play style. I try to buy everything and do everything. A lot of the time, I was kind of fuzzy on what happened in the previous story sequence.
I also love the hook blade and ziplines, but there weren't enough ziplines! It seemed like all the ziplines were always going in the direction I wasn't lol.
