I got this game, and for me It's an 8 at best.

I know people have different opinions, but you know the masses will generally react negative towards a person who rates outside of the norm, which is stupid but that's life.

Also, I tried watching the video, but a video game review at 240p? No thanks hahaha.

Why would he play this one without having first played at least one of the other AC games?

Everything is too dark? What? I didn't have a single problem. Maybe he should invest in a new TV or change his settings.

He didn't like the controls? Well that's because he tried to hold R1, X and use the right analog stick at once. X can be released while free running and it doesn't ruin the flow of things. Way to make it complicated, when it isn't at all, especially when one would have the controls down perfectly had the previous games been played.

The ONLY thing I'll agree on is pacing, but that's because I'm a completionist, and I tried to do everything possible.

This review is a fail.

Game reviews are NOT MEANT to be PERSONAL OPINIONs.

They are recommendations to the reader. The reviewer is *supposed* to keep that in mind, otherwise his/her "review" is worth no more than your grandma's "review" opinion.

The review is supposed to be a consideration of the game, from the viewpoint of an individual who both understands it, and was contemplating purchasing it. Reviews are not supposed to be from some random fool who never would have given the game a second look in the game store.

Anyone can write their opinion about a game. A reviewer has more responsibility than that. Any reviewer who disagrees with that basic premise is basically confessing that journalism is a pointless job that anyone could do -- which I would argue that its not meant to be, at all. A reviewer needs to set him or herself into the mind of the "potential buyer" (i.e. someone with some initial interest). If he/she cannot do so, then they should not be reviewing the game at all.

Im a hardcore assassins creed fan just look at my avatar, but i still enjoyed revalations it was not as good as previous instalments & while i enjoyed a little & I mean little backstory of desmond & the completion of altiar & ezio i was very disapointed in the fact that the overall story moved along a total of what 2 minutes?

Dont get me wrong ill still play revalations over a lot of games out now but i was really hoping for more!

I completely agree, I LOVE this series but it wasn't an improvement on the last game. It was smaller and shorter. It feels like half the game the others were.

If this was my first AC I would probably ecstatic. Since I've played them all (Brotherhood is my favourite) I must admit that I'm starting to feel burnt out on the gameplay mechanics, which have only seen minor changes along the way.

I still thoroughly enjoy being able to go sightseeing in a beautiful recreation of a historic city though, and Revelations (I'm only a few hours into it so far) is no different in that regard.
And it looks even more stunning now with 3D support.

After Ubisoft is churning these titles out like a Madden or Call of Duty, the quality of them IS going to diminish, which was apparent in the story advancing at a snail's pace.

Look at Oblivion/Skyrim. Several years between released of both games. Why? Because Bethesda wanted the BEST possible version of the game possible, without cutting corners.

Although AC:R is a good game, it could have been a freakin' masterpiece had they taken care of little intricacies that were plaguing the previous installments. Instead, they chose to opt for the "let's get paid now" approach and we ended up with a game that had the potential of being absolutely amazing. Not knocking on the game, but I think it could have been better. It doesn't deserve the score that it got, I agree, but there's some shades of truth in what he's saying.

And don't even get me started on the den defense mode...what a joke.

Just visited the website because I see everyone's trolling and I think this is the only review that people are having issues with. I believe that it deserves a better score but hey its his opinion. That doesn't mean burn everything to HELL! AC is a great franchise but things get stale after so much repetitiveness, I don't like to be a zombie doing the same old crap...but make up your own minds after you play the game, I'm a couple of hours into it and I'm liking it so far but we shall see.

a 4.6 is a score reserved for broken games. ACR is not broken. A 4 for any AC game is a joke. It's obvious how hard he tried to hate the game in this terribly unfunny funny review.

I also hate this guy's review style. "It's ok....but I'll give it 3 for the hell of it".

I'm guessing this is some sort of hobby for the guy but he should at least take it seriously. ACR is an annual rehash but the franchise deserves a little more respect than some lazy 4/10 review from some dude on a couch.

By the way...I hate Assassin's Creed. I think it's boring and repetitive, and as much as an annual cash grab as CoD, Madden, Pokemon, Dynasty Warriors, and all of those damn Dragon Ball Z games. Despite that, they are consistently well made and deserve a better review than this.

Not sure whether to take him seriously or not? He says graphics are beautiful but then gives it a 3? Doesn't even make sense. Also, if it's too dark, why not turn up the brightness? Problem solved.

I would love to hear his opinion on Gears 3 or uncharted 3 graphics. "the graphics in both games are absolutely the best I have ever seen. Therefore, I give them a 4/10."

Loved the game but it didn't answer any important questions. Like why did brotherhood end with a certain someone dying. Anyway the game itself was very cinematic and there's still plenty to do.
