Rumor: EA want to bring Origin to the Wii U, Valve also interested

If this rumor is belived to be true, an EA intern has revealed some very interesting information regarding the Wii U’s online system. EA are apparently in talks with Nintendo to try and make Origin the exclusive digital games distribution platform on Wii U.

Origin on a console isn't that bad.

I hate Origin on PC because it's able to look at all your personal info but on a console you don't have that same problem.

^I actually posted that before I realized EA wanted to make it exclusive. I really don't agree on that. I either want Steam to be exclusive or have both as options.

If Origin becomes exclusive, you can bet that they will take advantage of customers.

You are aware steam do the same thing are you not ? That is how they do all stats on there website. to know the average OS's hardware etc.

People just jump to the conclusion that it was spying. But really just like steam do is so they can gather information about highest used OS or average specs etc.

Don't get me wrong its steam any day. Just trying to clear up all stupid conspiracy theorys.

I'm hoping for Steam on PS3, which seems more likely given that Valve has already implemented Steamworks on Portal 2 for PS3 and soon with Counter Strike Global Offensive also.

It's actually, "better" in the long run, because it'll mean that the Wii U's online service will be open (non restricted).

Shouldn't you be happy that friendcodes are now abolished for the Wii U?

Another step for publishers to each charge for their catalogue of MP games.

Given that so many gamers care more about MP than SP now, it actually makes sense for publishers to charge for it. Most of my friends play 100s of hrs of only 2-3 games a year - a FPS and one or two sports game.

It's so sad to see them ignore great games like Batman, Uncharted, Dues, etc. all they care about it the competitive aspect of gaming.

How about the Wii marketplace?, They will lose a lot of market share in their console if they allowed Steam or Origin on Wiiu. Even sony hasn't announce any STEAM marketplace of PS3, only steamworks server for PC/PS3 crossplay, nothing more... LOL

Nintendo will take both they wont hinder themselves with 1 or the other maybe give EA some kind of exclusive deal but both will hit WiiU FACT.

way yo go nintendo Origin and Steam , looks like the wiiU release is gonna be at the right time and nintendo is doing things correctly this time setting standards perhaps for future generations of consoles?
