Now, I've definitely got to get a wii for this game.
And of course, the mario galaxy games and past gamecube games are surely worth getting a wii for.

@Chuk5 Besides, I've got tons of extra cash to spend this holiday season, so I'm not really worried in that department and I've got a niece who lives with me who's dying to play a wii as well.

I don't think any one game could justify a whole system. On the other hand, if you threw in the mario galaxy games, donkey kong country returns and smash bros, then it'd be worth it.

Buy a WiiU next year it has BC. I sold my Wii a long time ago and there are some games I missed out on, but I'm going to wait for Wii U

so for ign it'll be between U3 and Zelda for GOTY, simply judging by scores. And simply by scores U3 pulls a little bit bit ahead as it scored 10 in all categories and Zelda got docked mark in the sound department. Still those are only scores so only time will tell

For the last time, the higher score a game has doesn't equal goty. Once a game gets a 9, it is anyone's game. Fallout 3 had a lower score than LBP, GTAIV and MGS4 and still beat all of them for IGN's GOTY 2008.

GOTY has nothing to do with the score.

IGN gave it's 2008 GOTY to Fallout 3, which got a 9 I believe.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was released the same year and got a 10.

It's anybodies game at this point, though I will say from what I've seen, UC3 and Zelda are definitely front runners at this point, that's for sure.

I love the Zelda series but I hate to see when games get a free pass on scores just like Twilight Princess did. If this was any other game this gen other than from nintendo, the reviewer would've take off a bunch of points just for no voice acting and complain about it the whole review. I know this game is gonna be a ton of fun and I'll be owning this game soon enough but enough with the free passes on Mario and Zelda reviews. The only way Nintendo is truely going to make a different experience with these titles is if people start becoming critical of the formal that they keep recycling.

When TP came out people were saying it was the best Zelda title. I'll have to play it and judge for myself but I'm very skeptical on that claim.

Interesting. So let me give you a scenerio - say the reviewer did complain about no voice acting, and gave the game an 8.5, or 9.0. Would you then deem the review fair? Keep in mind, you have yet to play the game, so you don't know if the lack of voice acting is a detriment to the overall presentation.

Or how about this scenerio - the game was made with voice acting in it, but the reviewer gave the game an 8.5 because the addition of the voice acting took away from the overall feel of the Zelda experience. Would the review be fair then?

By the way, I don't mean to right this post to criticize you, but rather to undertand why you feel this way.

Ok *giggle*... Ummm you say that they need to have voice acting, I say no way. By that standard all games should have a great an epic storyline. No... Well all of the ninty games have great gameplay and story specially zelda. The big problem with giving voices its who would you get to voice the character????? who???? Characters like Mario and Link are too iconic to give them a full on voice acting, if the person botches the job then gamers will call for the head of the voice actor. Ninty has taken chances with voice acting so don't pretend that they haven't e.g last metroid game. Starfox. So its not like they don't even try. They don't get free passes its that the games are so damn solid, that things like voice acting is not something necessary in a game.
