Popular Mechanics has chosen Mass Effect as its number-one "Must-Have" game gears for the holidays. Its five recommended "Must-Haves" are:
1. Mass Effect
2. Rock Band
3. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
4. Super Mario Galaxy
5. GameFly
In addition, Popular Mechanics recommend skipping these five "Have-Nots":
1. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
2. Assassin's Creed
3. Clive Barker's Jericho
4. Ghost Squad
5. Wii Zapper
MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.
MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.
That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.
I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.

My top 3 are Mario 3, Mario World and Mario 64. Mario Odyssey is also excellent, and I enjoyed Sunshine but didn't care for the Galaxy series.

real gamer ( not fanboy ) that plays Mass Effect will tell you GOTY. Even those minor glitches doesn't take away from the gaming experience.
Yes, popular mechanics, stinking fetid and decayed, of yellow journalism and 9/11 debunking LOL
Uh yes, sir, pay us and we will lie to your content
INSIDE JOB!
I would not say avoid Assassin's Creed. I played it through and have to say it was stunning. Repetitive? Yes... Easy? Not if you try to get the achievement where you need to stealth kill every target. Overall it is a bit disappointing compared to the hype it had, but still worth checking.
and Guitar Hero3.. definitely worthy of your money :)
Mass Effect, now there's a game.
Avoid Assassin's Creed and Guitar Hero 3 ????!!!!!!!!........
Jericho, Zapper and GS I can understand but they must be smoking something bad because AC definitly is a must have. Also, GH3 is a great game. Not as great as Rock Band but still pretty good with hellish but fun diffculty and many great songs.
