iAX Review: “Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~” (PC)

iAX: "Don’t be fooled by the packaging: Go! Go! Nippon! from OVERDRIVE (Kira Kira, Dengeki Stryker) is much more of a narrated tourist guidebook than the visual novel it claims to be. It’s a game with a mission, and that mission is to take the (non-Japanese) player step-by-step through a visit to Tokyo. It’s very focused on that goal, and everything else is merely a sidelight. The girls, Makoto and Akira, are essentially tour books with faces, so if you’re going into the game expecting some kind of emotional response to the contents, you’re going to be disappointed."
