Tribune writes: "It’s easy to look at PAYDAY: The Heist and pick-up all of its obvious stylistic comparisons to the 1995 classic film Heat. Lines of dialogue, to the fast rhythmic drums that overlay each heist are so similar to the film that Michael Mann could sue if he really wanted to. But I would argue that if you’re looking for some sort of inspiration for your heist game, then choosing one of the greatest heist films of all time is definitely a great place to start. And count me in. It would certainly help if the game is good too, though. And thankfully, PAYDAY: The Heist is a thrilling first person shooter with only minor, yet sometimes glaring shortcomings."
Free PC games this week include XCOM Enemy Unknown, Payday: The Heist, Aliens vs Predator 2000, Crash Time 2 and more.
In celebration of reaching 1.5 million members on Payday 2's official Steam community group, Overkill is releasing Payday: The Heist completely free for 24 hours starting October 16th, 2 days ahead of the originally planned date - October 18th.
The game will be free to download/keep, and will stay in your Steam library as long as you claim it within the specified 24 hour window.
So last time, the Payday 2 community was just short of 1,000,000 players and we were given 3 months roughly to gain 500,000 more! A rather large and daunting task, one I didn’t believe was possible, I am, however, beginning to change my tune on that.
A PS4 version would of been prime after the Hardline delay, but no one expected that.
