GameStooge: Orcs Must Die! Review

The tower defense genre continues to evolve, as it gets melded with other genres, like Sanctum which mixes a pure tower defense game with first person shooter mechanics, and Toy Soldiers, which allows players to control some of the pieces. Even AAA titles have embraced the concept, with games like Gears of War 3 turning its survival Horde mode into a modified tower defense game, allowing players to purchase defensive emplacements.

Robot Entertainment, which was formed from much of the old Ensemble Studios team, decided to make their first game a smaller, bite-size game, and from there, Orcs Must Die! was born, which is a third-person shooter/tower defense game, which has its tongue firmly planted in cheek.
