OXCGN:
"Fallout 3 set an unusually high standard in the world of post-release downloadable content.
"Its successor, Fallout: New Vegas, has been walking a fine line between very good and very bad when confronted with this topic.
"All of that has changed, though, with Lonesome Road, the fourth and final downloadable content for the title.
"It’s a tough journey, and only few have lived to tell the tale of the adventures that lie beyond.
"Are you prepared to walk the Lonesome Road?"
Examples of DLCs that are NOT cynical cash-grabs are few and far between. These rare gems can significantly expand upon and improve the base game. GameLuster's Nirav Gandhi highlights the top ten DLCs of all time. Publishers take note - these are DLCs done right.
My favorite DLC list would be:
10) Dragon Age Origins: Awakening
9) Assassin's Creed IV: Freedom Cry
8) Destiny: The Taken King
7) Fallout 4: Far Harbor
6) Fallout New Vegas: Lonesome Road
5) The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard
4) The Elder Scrolls IV: The Shivering Isles
3) The Last of Us: Left Behind
2) Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare
1) The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine
Honorable) Mass Effect 3: Citadel, The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone, FarCry 3: Blood Dragon, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls
Also) Fallout 76: Wastelanders (Actually brings some sense to the game) (Should be a standalone offline title)
Where’s Big surf island from Burnout Paradise? And all the extras.
GTA4’s dlc was one of the best ever
Undead nightmare was brilliant My 3 favourites off top of my head great value and great content
Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 DLC was great, Horizon: Zero Dawn's Frozen Wilds DLC was good.
Bethesda Softworks has today launched the Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition brings the critically acclaimed Fallout: New Vegas and all of its downloadable content (DLC) to a single retail package for the first time.
Chris Avellone has been instrumental in crafting some amazing CRPGs during his career, with his most recent contribution to our role-playing game collections being Fallout: New Vegas and its four story-driven DLC packs. To learn more about the concepts, ideas, and design elements that went into the game and its add-ons, GameBanshee fired off a massive set of post-mortem questions to Chris, and have just finished publishing the second half of the Q&A.
I can't believe the amount of post-launch content there is for this game!
I'm assuming this is the last of the DLC...?
Rage has sapped my will to play New Vegas. Think I'll pass on this one, regardless.
This DLC was terrible.
