GameZebo: The original Mafia Wars was one of the early breed of Facebook games, an accessible-but-deep text and menu RPG that let players build up a criminal empire. Mafia Wars 2 still lets you do that, but adds a whole lot more.
After laying off 100 employees in October, the company announced that they were “sunsetting” 13 older games from their library and reducing investment in “The Ville”. That has come to fruition this month, culminating in yesterday’s surprising shut down of the popular PetVille and Mafia Wars 2.
Zynga has learned you can't make metric shit ton of "ville" clone garbage games and stuff their pockets forever ? :D
Don't understand why a company like Zynga need a hundred employees in the first place.
I know people will be uposet with this, but another failure in the free to play market.

Social gaming company Zynga’s newest game, Mafia Wars 2, is now available to play on Facebook. It is the first official sequel to a Zynga game and was built by the same team that created Mafia Wars. It combines some elements from its predecessor with those from some other Zynga games.
It's funny because they preach about the privacy, but most games require you to have a ton of people added to do much in the game.
