GameDynamo - "Resident Evil: Code Veronica X is something akin to watching B-movie actors hamming it up in an old black and white picture."
The October Games with Gold lineup is here!
I havent played Code Veronica since the Dreamcast. I assume this is that but in HD?
Damn, I just bought code name Veronica. Lol. I was eyeballing the Castlevania game due to the recent Tokyo Gameshow Sale, but I guess I’ll just get it here instead.
The entire Lost Planet series plus Resident Evil: Code Veronica X get Xbox One backward compatibility today.

Holy Crap! What a low score!
omg for real thats to low
in my opinion this was the last good horror resident evil besides 4
Eh. I'd hardly call it unplayable. Maybe the reviewer just wasn't very good at the game? Yeah, the controls are a pain, but it takes about an hour-or-so to adjust to the old style of controls and fully get used to it. By the time you play as Chris, you'll have plenty of ammo and health to be able to breeze through the second half of the game. And yeah the story and voice acting is cheesy as hell, but was anyone genuinely expecting Capcom to completely re-do it? If someone wants a more serious and modern take on the game, play Darkside Chronicles.
With that being said, the graphical upgrade really is atrocious for a so-called "HD remake". And while the dynamic lighting looks nice and the slightly updated character models are quite pretty, the FMVs are hideous and some cutscenes are so blurry it's hard to see the characters' features. Though I would argue that Capcom seemed to do a better job of upscaling Code Veronica than they did RE4. I can't even tell the difference between the PS2 version and the HD versionof RE4. Hell, some areas (particularly the cutscenes in Separate Ways) look like they're being played on a Standard Definition tv. They're that ugly. :/
