Bungie Announcement November 19th 2007

Writing in its weekly update, Bungie's Luke Smith said:

"On Monday (November 19) folks are definitely going to want to check Bungie.net and keep faces pressed to their monitors like children breathing on school bus windows in November, because there will be news. Oh yes, there will be news."

You may be laughing, but I can see this happening. Sony has all of that PS2 money to use on acquiring studios like Bungie and getting Halo ported to PS3.

If Halo doesnt happen due to licensing issues. Bungie will go foward and create Marathon exclusively for PS3. Marathon should and will have the Halo engine so Sony snubs Micro$hit once again for their victory.

Halo® 3 players will be able to enjoy three all new multiplayer maps on December 11 as part of the Heroic Map Pack, the first in a series of downloadable content from Bungie Studios to come via Xbox LIVE®.

Available for 800 Microsoft Points exclusively on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, each map presents a totally different play style.

* The symmetrical valley of Standoff, with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders is ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types.

* The vast, labyrinthine passages of the Rat's Nest bring something completely new to the multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise. Strongly influenced by the Campaign mode, this map is ideal for big team battles.

* Foundry is the ultimate Forge map. Players can edit every single object in this voluminous industrial warehouse, placing stairways, walls, bridges, and tunnels to create an entirely new play space and build almost any kind of map imaginable.

All three maps will become available for free download via Xbox LIVE Marketplace in Spring 2008, just prior to the next wave of new Halo 3 multiplayer maps.

We'll have more information on the Heroic Map Pack, including how to get the pack for those who haven't downloaded content before, as the release date nears.

@Jack Who....K1ss my @ss. I was correct.

@games4fun....map packs equal more money for the company at a minimal amount of expense to them. OFCOURSE they will continue to milk Halo3 via map packs. They can still devote 80% or more of their resources for new games and still churn out a new map pack now and then. Plus...I am sure they had map packs as part of their agreement with MS.

why would bunjie after finally deciding to go independent and do what they want and have some freedom to create new ip's decide that thier big announcement will be how they will continue making more map paks.
It is also very sad for a developer if that is their big announcement, that they are microsofts b$thes and will make more maps and arent doing anything else except for halo add-ons as a gaming company. I would kill myself if i was a developer at bunjie and all we were stuck doing now till the end of time was map packs and halo games.

Micro$oft is too stupid to charge people real money so they issue out "points". What a dumbass company.

jack who6024d ago

so wat bout ps3 n wii that does the same?

the dumb one here is you..

wAtdaFck6024d ago (Edited 6024d ago )

PSN uses REAL money.

they dont care what you spend them on really. You've already given them your money as soon as you buy a points card or buy more points online.

Its pretty ingenious really. They have your 20+ dollars ... and its just sitting there collecting interest in a bank account ... while you have your 1600+ points sitting there, waiting to be used.
