Is Battlefield 3's Beta Giving You A Sinking Feeling?

Hope the article is true, because the Battlefield 3 open beta was kinda disappointing. I mean it was fun but and alot of things were improved from Battlefield Bad Company 2 but when your about to kill some on and you sink to the ground and get knife, um yeah

Sloppiest beta I've ever played, I mean the glitches/bugs are SOO obvious. The sinking in the map just makes the park a burden to play. And to make things worse, the sinking is the worst right where you have to arm/disarm MCOM A.

The rest is good, but the beginning just sucks. And whats up with the snipers face, looks like a ghoul from Fallout 3 xD

why doesn't DICE fix these issues in the beta?

Sounds to me like they don't play on fixing anything in the beta at all. As far as I know those bugs will still be in the final game.

Misleading article. The portion of the BF game one of the authors played was the campaign and never did he play multiplayer. The campaign missions might be okay but the sales draw and longevity of BF3 depends on the multiplayer aspect of it. BF3 will need lots of work to fix bugs or glitches as demonstrated by the beta. And we have only tested the smallest map with no vehicles. I think it will be chaotic ugly in the final build.
What I experienced in that sink hole was that I got killed by someone who is in the hole but near the surface and is on top of another soldier buried inside the hole. I thought I didn't see anybody in my 6, but yeah, the prick shot me while just under the map.

I am tired of people saying its a Beta. Guess what folks..three weeks til release. The game is not even GOLD yet!! Most games have gone gold by now. It still needs polishing. Too much hype. Beta was a disappointment.

The beta is an older piece of code, they're using it to test the stress of the servers and weapons balance. The retail is most likely than newer code and less game breaking bugs. If that is not the case come the 25th/28th then bitch all you want then.

It is a beta and there will be a sizable patch day one. Of course if you are the intellectual gamer that feels teamwork is a must in MP and you cannot tolerate 12 year olds screaming in your ear then there is always MW3. /s

There is a great amount to be fixed, true. But the same thing was true of BFBC2.

The Dev Team is getting feedback like never before and I do not have any doubts things will shape up. As someone that played BFBC2 from day one until now, rather than hopping on the hoopla bandwagon at the last second, I know how the beta and retail were handled in that game so my concerns at this point are minor.

Mind you while playing the beta in XBL, there are a lot of 13 year olds too, running around while talking kiddie stuff and it's quite common to hear a high pitch voice telling the team 'cmon, let's pick up our game boys'. In fact, it appears like 80% of all gamers on both teams are running around like idiots. They will only stuck or play together if pinned down coz obviously no one can advance.

BETA. That's mean after ALPHA and BEFORE the game launch. Despite the game is launching soon. There will be patches to fix it up. Not every game is perfect from start.

You know what, DICE? You can postpone the relase until December if the console versions of the game is anything like the beta.

You know what, EazyC? You can report any found bugs and glitches to DICE so they can, you know, fix them in the retail builds. Only if people actually understand what a BETA build is, really. BETA games are NOT for you to demo the game pre-launch. DICE invited you to test their game and report any known bugs and glitches. BETA means unfinished software and is expected to have stability issues.

This is a beta that plays like a pre-alpha of the game. Dont even release a beta if it's going to be this glitchy. It will only damage people's perception of your game. If they dont fix a lot of things before launch, I am cancelling my pre order.

Right, it is not difficult to expect bugs in a BETA build for software of any category. Software developers typically warn users of BETA software to be wary of bugs and advise against using it as an application for your daily tasks. It is, like you said, for testing purposes only.

People need to stop complaining about bugs in a BETA game and report them to the developers.
