First? then how come i had to download a patch the other day when playing it for the first time 1.01?

Falconm4597d ago

Agree. This is the 2nd patch. I hope this patch will improve the frame rate stability.it is really sad how you see websites giving this game very high scores and sometimes even higher than GT5, but they never talk about the terrible graphics, sub HD graphics and shoppy frame rate.

To be honest, I lost faith in all internet gaming website reviews.

CoryHG4597d ago

Because most people who reviewed the game own an xbox or pc.

it's called a day-one update, probably to support the VIP Pass, who knows. But this is a new update, version 1.02 I'm guessing it's on now

This better fix the DX11 crash bug codey boys or I will beat yer bare bum with my dongle.

iamgoatman4597d ago

A truly horrifying prospect.

iamgoatman4597d ago

Hopefully they'll support this game better than their last few titles, but knowing a patch is already in the approval phase is good news, it took a while for F1 2010 to receive it's one and only patch, and theres another patch is QA testing as well.

Haven't experienced any game breaking bugs yet, but there is still a lot to be fixed.

There are some major bugs in the game.
Set your spring setups to 11 and 11 and you are basically on rails.
Also if you have realistic flags on you can do major corner cutting in Singapore.

iamgoatman4597d ago

Been on the Codemasters forums for a few days, so pretty familiar with most of the bugs, but seeing as I only race offline in Career most of the major ones I haven't experienced or have just ignored. Of course that is not to say there aren't some serious problems, because after sifting through pages of forum topics it's pretty obvious there are.

I have tried the 11 spring bug, which I'm sure completely ruins online races. I personally set mine to 7/8 on my Lotus, just to combat large amounts of understeer.

The corner cutting was pretty bad in Melbourne as well, particularly the chicane where you could just miss it altogether and not get a penalty.

The most inexcusable bugs however are the ones that carried over from 2010, some may be small but they've had a year to fix it and still not bothered, which is pretty disgraceful.

You know gaming has really gone down the shitter when a patch is more sought after than the release of the game it was intended for.

Apocwhen4597d ago

As far as I know the patch that is being referred to here was the Day one patch when launched on PS3. No other patch has been released since, but a new one is needed badly to fix some big bugs.

A Look at All of the Racing Games Available on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "The racing genre has always felt like a perfect fit on handhelds, thanks to offering bite-sized sessions and being able to hide technical flaws behind blistering speeds and enclosed environments. It provides a large amount of variety too, from immersive sims to light-hearted kart racers (and my personal favourite, drift-heavy arcade racers!), meaning there’s usually something for everyone to enjoy.

Anticipation was high that the Vita would follow in the PSP’s footsteps as a handheld offering an unrivalled selection of racers, from muddy WRC titles to the clean racing lines of Gran Turismo. Beyond the initial months things didn’t quite pan out like this, but there’s still a nice spread of games available to cater to anyone’s tastes – and thanks to the addition of backwards-compatibility with PSP and PS1, the Vita ends up with possibly the largest selection of any console in the last 10 years, even if it's not all running natively on the hardware."

F1 2011 vs F1 2015 Singapore comparison

TeamVVV writes: "We put F1 2015 up against F1 2011 in our very latest side by side comparison video.

F1 2011 is running on the Xbox 360 and F1 2015 is the Playstation 4 version. We take a couple of laps at the floodlit Singapore, one of the jewels in the Formula 1 crown, and we are using the now dominant Mercedes.

F1 2013 is the pinnacle of the series. They newer ones are arcady and watered down

Bass_fisherman3088d ago (Edited 3088d ago )

i had no idea that codemasters did a F1 game so that explains why it was so ahead of its time.

F1 2010 vs F1 2011 vs F1 2014 vs F1 2015 comparison

Team VVV writes: "To follow up on our recent F1 2011 vs F1 2015 video, we decide to go one step further and put four iterations of Codemasters' F1 titles side by side for comparison purposes and for a little fun too.

We have F1 2010 running at the top left for the Xbox 360, F1 2011 at the top right also for the Xbox 360, the bottom left is last year's F1 2014 for the Playstation 3 and of course F1 2015 running on the Playstation 4 completes the foursome in the bottom right video."
