Video Games that should be revived

Tech2.com writes, "As I play through the multitude of sequels and thirds this year, I can’t help but think of a few franchises that never really made it to this era of consoles. Maybe their sales weren’t up to the mark or their developers started working on new properties but either way here’s hoping that someone, someday brings them back from the dead."

Simon_Brezhnev4596d ago

you have great taste my favorite game on genesis is Comix Zone. My favorite spider-man game was Maximum Carnage, Carnage pissed me off like no other and the cheap ending. LOL

Venoxn4g4596d ago

still Maximum Carnage game WAS AWESOME!

Simon_Brezhnev4596d ago

Yeah Maximum Carnage is awesome thats my game. I like playing with Venom. Some people say its not a spiderman game because its a beat em up and i just laugh at them.

Venoxn4g4596d ago (Edited 4596d ago )

they can say what they want, but it's my FAVOURITE spiderman game and one of the best retro games ever (and good spidey game is Ultimate spiderman) :)

Pozzle4596d ago

Hell yes to Legacy of Kain!

SilentNegotiator4596d ago

They should make a new MediEvil game.....oh that's right, they are! Whoop whoop!

Give us "Banjo Threeie", too. They made a pretty awesome engine. Impressive stuff; that game ran 720p, 2xAA, and with a good framerate. The world was big and good looking, too. So how about a game that incorporates the original, GOOD gameplay style of the original titles?

Here is a list of some great games that could use some remakes or new versions released.

#1 Road Rash (Sega Genesis)
#2 Black and White (PC)
#3 Baldur's Gate (PC)
#4 Desert Strike / Jungle Strike / Urban Strike (Sega Genesis)
#5 San Francisco Rush (N64)
#6 Jade Empire (Xbox)
#7 Super Mario RPG (SNES)
#8 Elevator Action (NES)

The 7 Best Vampire Games: Embrace the Night

Vampire games are making a comeback of late, and gamers hoping this is a new trend should look back at the 7 best vampire games ever made.

SimpleSlave28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

What is a list? A miserable little pile of scribbles.

A Best Vampire Game list and no Bloodborne. A bold choice, indeed.

The_Hooligan28d ago

IMO, I wouldn't consider bloodborne a vampire game. Long story short, It's more about the side effects of the blood experiment and the influence of the red moon, than actually being a vampire.

SimpleSlave28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

Yes, Bloodborne is about Vampires. It's not just the undertones, or the imagery or the obvious parallels, it's pretty much everything and then some. Here's the thing, Bram Stoker's Dracula is also not a Vampire novel. Why? Because technically Vampires from folklore were something else.

But based on our updated view of what Vampires are, informed in one way or another by Bram Stoker's Dracula, Nosferatu The Vamprye, and many other stories, and combined with From Software's own interpretation, we can say with confidence that Bloodborne IS a Vampire story. Sure, there are other elements, but the central narrative is pretty much Vampires. Which would make it THE Vampire game. I mean, Cainhurst Castle. Anyways, that's how I see it.

But to each their and we'll agree to disagree.

MEGANE28d ago

Thats the best Vampire game ever, but enough talk, have at you!.

SimpleSlave28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

Absolutely... Now, die monster! You don't belong in this thread!

I've lost all hype for Bloodlines 2. It's going to be an action game.

Barlos28d ago

No Blood Omen? Even today it's one of my favourite vampire games. We could really do with a release on modern platforms.

Relientk7728d ago

I really enjoyed Vampyr. The combat is a little clunky and could use some work. However, the story, characters, dialog. setting, and pretty much everything else in the game is great.

Urban Chaos: Riot Response - Rocksteady Before the Bat

Rocksteady Studios has earned fame through its Batman titles, but before Bruce Wayne was a cult classic FPS - Urban Chaos: Riot Response.

DefenderOfDoom257d ago

I remember having a great time playing Urban Chaos on PS2 .

ModsDoBetter57d ago

One of my fave PS2 games of all time.

MrBaskerville57d ago (Edited 57d ago )

Didn't know Urban Chaos got a sequel, interesting!
After checking, apparently it's not a sequel to the ps1 game, just a game with the same title.

Abnor_Mal57d ago

Were you also thinking of a game where you play as an African American female cop? Because that’s the only game that ever comes to mind when I hear Urban Chaos, but I don’t remember anything much about it except some training driving a car in a parking lot.

DefenderOfDoom256d ago

I did not know there was a Urban Chaos different game on PS1 . I only found out and bought Urban Chaos for PS2 because pictures on box looked good when I was in Gamestop around 2007

Skuletor56d ago

I only played the demo on one of those Official Playstation Magazine discs back in the day but I remember liking it. I only bought the magazines for the demo discs tbh, lol.

Loved this game so much, actually my first online gaming experience. Damn I might emulate it actually, I'd love to see this in higher fidelity
