ZG writes: Sony have brought back some of the most memorable Playstation 2 titles in a swish HD remake package. Few titles tell a tale like SCE Japan’s Team, Bluepoint Games who developed ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. These two titles paved the way for modern titles and avid gamers will recognise the influence these titles had on platform, adventure or puzzle games. From the artistic story-telling to the unique atmospheric games’ world, both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus clearly had a strong influence on game-makers that would follow. This new collection brings back these epic classics on a single disc in Sony’s latest remake collection.
We've worked out which remaster collections are the best of the best.
Should players quell their expectations to avoid being let down?
Like ICO and SOTC before them, there is much you will unlearn during your time with the game, the formula used hasn't changed, it's a game you'll play alone, probably late at night, finish at some point in the morning and have a very fresh view point after finishing, very much like SOTC before it.
That's my gut feeling, stay away from footage, pictures, reviews etc. You won't see another game of this nature for at least another 10 years, enjoy it.
Don't over hype things then, just take them as they come. Nothing will ever live up to your expectations when you raise them so high.
Bloody hell. Just think of it as a 3D platform environmental puzzler or something like that. That's it. Just a type of puzzle game using environments to give you challenges and a big flying dog. Don't be one of those stupid fools thinking anything else. I enjoyed No Man's Sky, because I never hyped it up to be anything it wasn't. Don't be a stupid person. That's the only advice I can give. If you even have to think about this, then you are already headed for disappointment. The seeds have been planted. You're doomed.
Favourite video game boss fights for me are in The Shadow of the Colossus, very few other games have such good boss fight design.
I'd probably go with Terra's Armor from KH2 FM. The very assence of overpowered superboss, even Sephiroth can't put a finger on him... or rather it.
I thought the Storm King fight in Demon's Souls using the Storm Ruler Sword was effing awesome.
