the ultra special edition comes with a copy of battlefield 3!!!

-Mika-4615d ago (Edited 4615d ago )

I don't understand why battlefield fanboys come into a cod article and bash the game. I don't see cod fans doing the same in battlefield articles. Im not saying this to all battlefield fans but i thought you guys were suppose to be the "mature" ones.

TheFreak4615d ago (Edited 4615d ago )

True that well said.

kingdoms4615d ago (Edited 4615d ago )

It's not BF3 fanboys here It's the PS3 fanboys using BF3 as an tool to attack COD due to hate for COD, emboldened by BF3 intense hype and PS3 version spotlight.

I have BF3 pre ordered and have no plans on buying COD.

PS3 fanboys see it as a vs match between COD/360 and BF3/PS3 even though the end results will be 360 all.

ATi_Elite4615d ago

1. I seriously doubt there is anything that you could bash or make fun about when it comes to BF3 which is why you don't see COD fanboys in the BF3 threads.

2. Who the heck would even admit to being a COD fanboy anyway?

Heartnet4615d ago

Yeh ud think more children play BF than CoD if you read these forums

aman84r4615d ago

Thats cause EA encouraged this behaviour with their bullish comments.

MorningStar4615d ago

I admit to being a COD fanboy and what? Its a great game if it wasn't millions of people wouldn't be playing it daily. Its a great game with a formula that obliviously works otherwise it wouldn't be the best selling game for the last few years.

I find it funny you seem to get all these people saying its the same game bla bla bla but you don't go up to Coca Cola and say "hey that's the same drink you need to change". What about the millions of people buying iPhones / iPads its basically the same thing with a few need additions. Gonna hate on them too?

Wow Battlefield has a new engine it allows better destructibility and lighting... yeah urm because that's industry changing that is... its the same game as before but with those FEW extra features slapped on. So people bashing COD because BF has a new engine is pathetic.

Don't get me wrong it looks pretty cool but its still a FPS its still involves guns and it still involves shooting people. Not a massive step away from COD. I just find it funny that soon as BF gets a whole new engine these BF fanboys start to come from the woodwork. Guaranteed they were COD fanboys before and now they see something shiny they flock to it.

"I find it funny you seem to get all these people saying its the same game bla bla bla but you don't go up to Coca Cola and say "hey that's the same drink you need to change"."

Even though that's massively irrelevant, it cannot be argued with. Congratulations.

hiredhelp4615d ago (Edited 4615d ago )

Hmm. Coca cola is a classic Call of duty is not.

Calm Down Sunshine4615d ago

It doesn't cost £50 either...

lorianguy4615d ago

About the Coca-Cola thing:
It's on tap, is a classic, cheap and since no-ones complaining they're not going to change it.

Call Of Duty comes once a year and so it has to be a big step forward in order to keep up with the industry. If Battlefield is starting to detract from their fan base then they need to do something about it.
CoD is no longer a classic game, it's quite expensive and more and more people are complaining about it being the same thing year on year. Basically Coke and CoD are completely different and unrelated.

Here's my take on your paragraph 3:

It does have a new engine, a completely new engine. It IS a big deal, seriously it is. Engines aren't cheap to make and since they're building upon a popular engine, the original Frostbite, only good can come of it.

MW3 is using the MW2 engine and don't get me wrong, its a great engine, but it's going to make the game play almost exactly like MW2 with different guns and maps. I'd rather Infinity Ward would have worked on improving the engine considerably, like Treyarch did with Black Ops.

It's not the "same game as before" though.. Battlefield 2 was a LONG time ago, and since then they've only been making spin-offs. Here is a game with more than a "few extra features slapped on". I hear MW3 won't even have combat training, so features are being retracted.

It's not right to bash CoD due to the new engine, but it certainly gives Battlefield a leg up.

Finally..the fourth paragraph.. (thanks for putting up so far):

Your first sentence was more or less there, so congrats for that but it goes downhill...

It's a HUGE step away from CoD. I'd go to say that apart from being Modern Shooters, the two games are completely different. Go play a Battlefield game, even the Bad Companies, and then come and tell me that they are pretty much the same.

You find it funny? I swear when MW1 came out with a "shiny new engine", at least new to the CoD series, everyone flocked to it. And they weren't disappointed. CoD 4 is the BEST COD TO DATE!

Finally, they were most likely not CoD fanboys before because
A) Not everyone who plays CoD is a fanboy, people ARE allowed to play both.
B) Fanboys are kids who stick to their favourite game and put down the competition above all logic. It's like CoD is their religion.

Thanks,
Lorian

/Rant Over

aman84r4615d ago

I disagree with your comment about two shooters being different. It wasnt really that different of a experience with Bad Company 2.Infact the campaign was crap as was MOH's.
Why should they change the engine when this gen is almost over.If they kept same engine for next gen then i'd definitely complain.

Bladesfist4615d ago

I doubt they will make a new engine for next gen. I bet if they do get a new engine it will be id tech 5.

naded4615d ago

About your saying that COD and BF3, think about this, Battlelog, regardless if it's free, was never announced until Elite was. BF3 is starting to use the same killcams they have in, you guessed it, COD! Before you say it's completely different, think about the features they are ripping straight off COD.

Fishy Fingers4615d ago

Oh dear, if just the announcement of coming news stirs up the kids this much, what will the actual news do? Should be a lot of moaning and whining come Wednesday! :)

Call of Duty Players Disappointed by $80 B.E.A.S.T. Glove Bundle Deal

Recently, players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone were met with a new bundle featuring the B.E.A.S.T. Glove, inspired by King Kong's armament in the Godzilla x Kong movie. However, the $80 price tag attached to this themed accessory left many Call of Duty fans feeling underwhelmed.

Morons that allow themselves to be milked continuously by this company is the definition of irony.
Spend more $$ and you'll end up In easier lobbies so you win both ways when ya spend that cash

melons34d ago

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

Gridknac34d ago

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

X-2333d ago

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.

Cheech And Chong Are Coming To Call Of Duty Because Everything Must Be Consumed

The famous comedy duo is the latest example of pop culture becoming one big grey blob

Christopher49d ago

Certain to have some sort of reference to their online store for CBD/THC chews, which is advertising heavily online the last month or two.

Sciurus_vulgaris48d ago

The randomness of the multiplayer characters is one of reason I quit playing COD after briefly returning in 2022. We got Space Marines, rappers, tree monsters etc. all in a series called “ Modern Warfare”.

OtterX48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

I think if there was ever a time for a competitor to rise up and take away some of Call of Duty's thunder, the time would be now. A military shooter that takes itself seriously, not sold out to Fortnitism. Easier said than done, I know... but the time is ripe.

I can't stand this stuff either.

Palitera48d ago

There are tons of MP shooters that make no profit, if you're looking for one of those

fsfsxii48d ago

You guys have been saying this shit since 2009. Fortunately, nobody’s bringing down cod anytime soon, if ever.

crazyCoconuts48d ago

I agree. I really didn't like how the silliness takes away the gritty origins. That and all the crazy effects... dunno. I'm still playing it but I'd love for someone to steal their cheese and cater to grittier players

OtterX48d ago

@fsfsxii It's not so much wanting COD itself to die as it is wanting this silliness to die. Like CrazyCoconuts said, it takes from the grittiness. Many OG COD players want a straightup Military shooter experience, not silly costume time at Carnival.

Profchaos48d ago

is this what the kids want these days a pair of iconic stoners who were big in the 70s and have kind of held on I enjoyed their movies decades ago but I never recall the movie where cheech infiltrates a enemy base while chong snipes for support guess I must of missed that one

Man I'm getting to old for this

Knightofelemia48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

Cheech just looks so wrong in the picture.

Profchaos48d ago

Why just why. cod up in smoke

anast48d ago

They charge too much for a game that is kitsch.
