Ico & Shadow Of The Colossus Review - Jeuxvideo

With ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, Fumito Ueda has shown that video games could be a great way of expression for all creation of purely artistic and poetic. About leaving his creative genius and sensibility, the man realized how upset the players by instilling in his works an emotion that can resonate in the heart of all of us. To prepare for the providential arrival of The Last Guardian, his new project, Fumito Ueda invites us to pay their last respects to these two icons of gaming.

19/20 is the real rating.

disturbing_flame4616d ago

The problem on N4G is that they don't have a rating /20

CynicalVision4615d ago

Changing the rating because it's wrong.

Splinter Cell Trilogy was excellent, as was the MGS HD collection. Stealth ftw!

I’d love to see a Ghost Recon/SOCOM/Rainbow Six collection as well, all great military franchises

Why I'm Worried the Last Guardian Will Disappoint

Should players quell their expectations to avoid being let down?

Like ICO and SOTC before them, there is much you will unlearn during your time with the game, the formula used hasn't changed, it's a game you'll play alone, probably late at night, finish at some point in the morning and have a very fresh view point after finishing, very much like SOTC before it.

That's my gut feeling, stay away from footage, pictures, reviews etc. You won't see another game of this nature for at least another 10 years, enjoy it.

Silber2733d ago

Very well said.
Sure it can´t live up the hype around it, but anyway i think it will be a special experience like Ico or SotC.

Personally, if you are interested in a game that falls into the genres you like, it is really best to avoid the hype and wait till it is out before looking at reviews which are written by reviewers that you can trust.

Of course, finding reviewers that you can trust may be problematic.

SegaGamer2733d ago

Don't over hype things then, just take them as they come. Nothing will ever live up to your expectations when you raise them so high.

Bloody hell. Just think of it as a 3D platform environmental puzzler or something like that. That's it. Just a type of puzzle game using environments to give you challenges and a big flying dog. Don't be one of those stupid fools thinking anything else. I enjoyed No Man's Sky, because I never hyped it up to be anything it wasn't. Don't be a stupid person. That's the only advice I can give. If you even have to think about this, then you are already headed for disappointment. The seeds have been planted. You're doomed.

Favourite Video Game Boss Fights

Favourite video game boss fights for me are in The Shadow of the Colossus, very few other games have such good boss fight design.

I'd probably go with Terra's Armor from KH2 FM. The very assence of overpowered superboss, even Sephiroth can't put a finger on him... or rather it.

I thought the Storm King fight in Demon's Souls using the Storm Ruler Sword was effing awesome.
