Sneak Preview of New PS3 Ads

Hello everyone. When we last spoke, I posted some ads for PS3 third-party heavy hitters Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4. Well, as promised, we have more up our sleeves and have a couple more spots to debut for you all before they officially air the week of November 19th.

they pimping them ea games hard on that first one just hope burnout turns out better than madden did.

edit:
Bet their getting flak for the poor sales from ea... Still Sony shouldn't endorse such a crap port imo.

gamesblow6011d ago

They need to spend less on 3rd party and more on their in house guys and Insomniac. 3rd party obviously hates and does not care about Sony.

allforcalisto6011d ago

you know that sony initially financed L.A. noire(now they have a deal with the new publisher Rockstar for console exclusivity. in addition they have a rockstar games exlcusive IP.), they have teams developing The getaway, Resistance 2, White knight story, Gran turismo 5, Eight days (team ico busy on somethinG), Heavy rain is bein financed by Sony. Jak and daxter is getting a sequel, and naughty dog have said they're on to some new IPS. then there's god of war 3. Oh and there's Killzone.

i'm not saying your doing this gamesblow but i do find it really funny to the point of cringeworthy sometimes when xbots say stuff like "oooh don't tell us we have to wait. oooh go back to your waitstation triple"
it's like they've convinced themselves that the ps3 will never have great games out. Its sad on so many levels.
There are too many exclusive multi million selling ips coming out on the ps3 for me to take inane fanboys seriously.

ruibing6011d ago

Third party support has been exactly what Sony has been missing. Sony needs to help third party studios that are trying hard like Ubisoft and Infinity Ward (versus EA and Valve) to show that Sony is not just about its massive internal studios.

If they help support 3rd party developers with new engines and techniques from their best 1st party studios, they can help them cut down on development cost, produce games faster and better, and get an edge without having to pay for exclusives. I mean there's really no reason why they shouldn't try to share these technology with valued third party developers who have stayed loyal like Level 5, Square Enix (if you forgive Last Remnant), Kojima, Insomniac, and more. They gives third party developers a reason to stay loyal and creates a better bond.

Or they can take the MS route and pay out tons of monetary support that they should be using on Vista to get SP1 out faster.

dhammalama6011d ago

You said that they should focus on 3rd parties yesterday! Get your story straight!

Quote gamesblow "Good on Sony, they can sell units... What about software now? Attract some 3rd party dev's Sony... Not everyone can make up for their losses with you paying them. Insomniac, Naughtydog and Sucker Punch all have the benifit of security in Sony as they will pay the bills for marketing and advertising... EA, UBI and Namco don't have that luxury with your system."

Primetimebt6011d ago

One minute your praising sony, the next you're hating on them.. You lose?

EDMIX6010d ago

What are you talking about? They have ads that are just geared towards there first party games. Okay? Plus they need 3rd party support, people need to know that you can get Assassins Creed on the PS3 too, or else they just assume that its a exclusive 360 game.

*cough * squeenix FF13 etc.* cough * Namco Tekken 6 * cough* Rockstar LA Noire *Cough * cough* Epic showing love with UT3 timed
Ubisoft and Haze the same * Hacks up a lung Konami MGS4 ...... pops a cough drop ...excuse me.

gamesblow6011d ago

Haze isn't exclusive... Trust me. Square/enix?? Where are they? Oh, that's right... watching their bottom line since they feel the Ps3 needs 15 million units sold before they release a game. Konami and MGS4?? Xbox 360 will see this game before it's all said and done. Once again... 3rd party's do not care about the PS3 no more. Only for next-gen market penetration in the Japanese market. Namco is also working on Tekken 6 for the xbox 360, bet your sack lunch on it.

rofldings6011d ago (Edited 6011d ago )

Trust you? Or trust the main dev and every blog video produced by Free Radical who keeps saying it's PS3 exclusive. Right.

And Namco is a Japanese studio - every game they make will be on PS3; exclusive or multiplatform.

AND WHAT PART OF MGS4 EXCLUSIVE FOR PS3 DO YOU XBOTS NOT UNDERSTAND?

allforcalisto6011d ago

your ignorance is funny

ruibing6011d ago

You need to stop stating rumours as if they were facts. Rumor of Tekken 6 came out only because Virtua Fighter 5 came to the 360. Rumor of MGS4 has been shot down again and again by the developer Kojima. And as for Haze, the last news I've read regarding its exclusivity is that 360 and PC development have been dropped and there are no plans to bring them back in the forseeable future:

http://www.gamespot.com/new...

Even PS3 fans don't keep on contradicting developers when they themselves said games like Bioshock wouldn't be coming to the PS3. Nor are we so jealous of a rival's game library, 360 owners should be happy with what they have. I don't get where the 360 fans get their misguided confidence, but it needs to be downgraded a peg.

Okay we know Haze is not a PS3 exclusive, But FF will most likey stay on the PS3 since the PS3 sells 10 to 1 better then the 360 in Japan ( Where FFXIII will see most of its sales) plus if its a timed game, by the time its out for the PS3 (end of 2008) the PS3 will have enough units out, to make the Exclusive a little longer. and MGS4 may not be on the 360, if it is, it will be pretty bad port, Kojima is trying to max out the Blu-ray, he is using Uncompressed Audio and processing, something the 360 can't do, do to lack of space per disc, if they try to port it, trust me, it will be a really rough port. And if Tekken was going to be on the 360 why would they wait to make Tekken 6? why not put on Tekken DR with online play on XBL? Tekken6 is using the Cell processer as its main engine, even the arcade machines it plays off of in Japan have the Cell inside. I don't see it being ported. and NO Namco never said they were making a PS3, version, sony not only made a deal with them this deal seems like it is a permenent.

Meus Renaissance6011d ago

It's good but they dont come anywhere close to the PlayStation Universe advert they developed a few weeks ago. That was perfection.

gamesR4fun6011d ago

ya those were way better still the msg stuff on these was pretty cool.

xplosneer6011d ago

But they are still great, convey the purpose, and are a MILLION times better than the launch ads.

allforcalisto6011d ago

man sooooo close to getting a 60 gig.

the way they have mgs4 and assassin's creed in the same ad is pretty smart.

08 will be the greatest year for gaming ever, and its soooooooo close.

How Burnout Paradise bucked the trend and made open-world racing irresistible

Met with derision from existing Burnout-series fans at the time, Burnout Paradise remains arguably the greatest open-world racing game of all time. Here's why.

SullysCigar360d ago

I don't know why - and I know I'm probably on my own here - but I liked Takedown more. I think it was just 'different' enough to feel fresh. I also loved the destruction.

On that note, a new Motorstorm would be nice! All that mud, dust and car pieces flying everywhere blew my mind on PS3 - imagine what they could do now.

NJShadow359d ago

I loved Burnout Paradise, but Burnout 3: Takedown will always be the best game in the series, for me. Burnout 3 is arguably the most fun game ever made, with the greatest licensed soundtrack ever.

EazyC360d ago

I played through the remaster quite recently. It's not as good as I remember, but I think a lot of that is because the "open world" thing was still pretty fresh back then.

I do think there's a gap in the market for a game like Burnout. With the new gen they could really make car damage a huge selling point again.

BrainSyphoned360d ago

Paradise gave me open world burnout before I knew it was a thing.

CPTN MITCHELL360d ago

Burnout paradise remastered and original are my favorite, i got the platinum trophy for both games the nighthawk is my favorite car

Einhander1971360d ago

Personally don't give a shit for open world racers. Give me a new Motorstorm, Split second, Outrun.

I think the crash mode should comeback. Tryng to make the most damage was very cool.

camel_toad1009d ago

That mode was so damn fun. Couldn't believe it when they ditched it.

Flewid6381009d ago (Edited 1009d ago )

Agreed.

Flewid6381009d ago (Edited 1009d ago )

Yeah that made for a good time.

Rebel_Scum1009d ago

Burnout 2 should be above 3 imo. The aftertouch takedown mechanic slowed down the gameplay too much in 3.

Flewid6381009d ago

That's the mechanic that made me enjoy Burnout 3 over the others. It wasn't until they introduced it that I considered the series any good.

Chocoburger1009d ago

I love Takedown, Revenge, and Paradise. Dominator was okay, but it clearly felt like a B-tier game.

After playing those awesome games, I went back to try out part 1 and it was rough. I didn't like the controls (whereas the others felt perfect to me), the elevator music was generic and not enjoyable to listen to.

Finally the game's difficulty was extremely high. I could beat all single player races in Takedown, Revenge, Paradise, Dominator, but could not get first place in the very first race for the first Burnout game. It demands perfection and one slight mistake is all it takes to lose. I have yet to play part 2, but I'm hoping it's more like part 3 than part 1.

ChasterMies1009d ago

Burnout Takedown is my favorite racing game of all time. My wife was addicted to crash mode.

Xenial1008d ago

As soon as I saw Burnout 3: Takedown at #1, I knew the list was legit. lol

Its long long overdue but the problem is its just not a big money spinner. Thats why EA ditched it. Alex Ward has gone his own way with Three Fields Entertainment & made Dangerous Driving but its very low budget.

LucasRuinedChildhood1137d ago

Each game gets closer and closer to being good. It's kind of painful how close they are. haha. I hope Dangerous Driving 2 being open world isn't too ambitious for them and it's a polished, fun 7.5-8/10.

roadkillers1137d ago

Maybe not, but if a quality title in the reigns released now days...People do pay more attention to reviews comparitively

BrainSyphoned1137d ago

Burnout with real life car mechanic costs sounds about right if you want EA to go for it.

isarai1137d ago

Here's the thing, EA is sitting on so many great IPs i would like to return, but at the same thing i feel like modern EA would find a way to ruin it. Besides Respawn, EA hasn't dropped anything good for almost 2 generations IMO.

LucasRuinedChildhood1137d ago

"almost 2 generations" What? Are you talking about the PS3 and the 360?

I agree with the general sentiment that their catalogue of games since the PS4/XB1 has been comparatively terrible to what they used to do though.

andy851137d ago

Absolutely loved these games back in the day. Paradise was good too but didn't quite have the feel of the old games
