Should players quell their expectations to avoid being let down?
Like ICO and SOTC before them, there is much you will unlearn during your time with the game, the formula used hasn't changed, it's a game you'll play alone, probably late at night, finish at some point in the morning and have a very fresh view point after finishing, very much like SOTC before it.
That's my gut feeling, stay away from footage, pictures, reviews etc. You won't see another game of this nature for at least another 10 years, enjoy it.

Sure it can´t live up the hype around it, but anyway i think it will be a special experience like Ico or SotC.
Personally, if you are interested in a game that falls into the genres you like, it is really best to avoid the hype and wait till it is out before looking at reviews which are written by reviewers that you can trust.
Of course, finding reviewers that you can trust may be problematic.
Don't over hype things then, just take them as they come. Nothing will ever live up to your expectations when you raise them so high.
Bloody hell. Just think of it as a 3D platform environmental puzzler or something like that. That's it. Just a type of puzzle game using environments to give you challenges and a big flying dog. Don't be one of those stupid fools thinking anything else. I enjoyed No Man's Sky, because I never hyped it up to be anything it wasn't. Don't be a stupid person. That's the only advice I can give. If you even have to think about this, then you are already headed for disappointment. The seeds have been planted. You're doomed.
Favourite video game boss fights for me are in The Shadow of the Colossus, very few other games have such good boss fight design.

I thought the Storm King fight in Demon's Souls using the Storm Ruler Sword was effing awesome.

2 of the best games of any platform, any generation. If you haven't played these, do yourself the favor and buy this collection.
Still have both games from ps2days bit this is my most anticipated game pick up this year and i have a lot of games to get lol.
i have never played this two games which is sad, thank god for the hd collections and i would just buy this two games just to see the last guardian and pretend like i was playing it on my tv lol
