GameZone's Stephanie Carmichael gives examples of some of the best voice-over narrations in video games, like Bastion and Max Payne.
Remedy Entertainment's upcoming Max Payne 1&2 remake is set to enter full production in the company's second financial quarter of 2024.
Following the remake announcement of the Max Payne remakes, the internet exploded with ideas of what it could look like.
Just look at Alan Wake 2, it quite literally has the exact same character. This model in This article looks nothing like any rendition of max
I don’t think about what he’s going to look like so much as I wonder as to what he’ll sound like after James Mcaffery passed away suddenly last year. He was the voice of Max Payne and it’s hard for me to imagine Max voiced by anyone else.
Remedy and Rockstar are rolling out the red carpet for the Max Payne remakes on PS5 and Xbox, with similar development costs to Alan Wake 2.
The guy who does the voice in Bastion has an epic voice
Some great voice overs (Not Narrators necessarily) include:
The entire cast of the Soul Reaver series (Tony Jay RIP)

Mark Strong as Captain Titus in Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine

Liam O'Brian as War in Darksiders (Unbelievable that little voice turns into War)

Richard Doyle as Big Boss in MGS4

wow, the just missed the top 3 (apart from Bastion, which is something special due to the unscripted narration of the game): Ron Perlman in Fallout (short but iconic), Stephen Fry in LittleBigPlanet and Zoe Wanamaker in Fable 2.
Also, Glados in Portal is not a "Voice-over Narrator", she interacts directly with the PC and does not do any narration.
Patrick Stewart could narrate every game in existence and I would never get bored.
