SALT LAKE CITY -- Chair Entertainment, an Epic Games studio, has shifted its focus in recent years to digital delivery game experiences. Undertow and Shadow Complex were hits on Xbox Live Arcade. Last year, the Salt Lake City-based studio released Infinity Blade for iOS, a critically acclaimed and commercial hit. Donald Mustard, the creative director and co-founder of Chair Entertainment, believes in a digital future. He talks about cloud gaming, why he’d like the next console to fit in his pocket, and why it’s important for game makers to own the digital rights to their IP in this exclusive IndustryGamers interview.
"One of my favorite digital only games back on the Xbox 360 was this game called Shadow Complex that originally released back in 2009."

I dont want a world where games are mindless "brodude" MMO FPS. We all have are ideas where we want gaming to go.
The gaming industry has already entered full "Hollywood Mode" though. And it has for a while too, it's just even more blatant now. Think about it: a lot of games are remasters/remakes, which is exactly what Hollywood does with its movie franchises. Then you have a lot of games whose sole point is to generate more profits, not more fun. Exactly like Hollywood movies: soulless and devoid of what makes classics well, classics. Doesn't mean there aren't good games anymore, but the whole industry is looking dire and very anti-consumer now (DLCs, season passes, various paywalls, barren single player modes, etc.).
I know that's not exactly what this article is about, but to me the parallel is clear as day.

Eventually the industry will head in this direction, as tablets and smartphones get more and more powerful and can then also be hooked up to a TV and a controller, all wirelessly to give you the big screen console experience also.
