Analyst: DS Redesign Done, Uncharted & Haze At Risk

Pacific Crest Securities' Evan Wilson says new version of Nintendo's portable complete; holiday release torrent creating retail woes.

Wilson notes that not all games will be affected by insufficient retail space. "Clearly, the end-of-year squeeze creates limited space at retail, which limits the size of initial orders of games with less publicity and reorders of games with lower quality." He anticipates games with high preorder rates such as Guitar Hero III, Call of Duty 4, Assassins' Creed, Mass Effect, WWE, and Rock Band to be less affected by insufficient retail space. "Titles that could be at risk of getting squeezed," he continues, "include Haze, Kane & Lynch, and Uncharted."

I think uncharted is badass. Haze, maybe also. Gotta see what reviews are like.

You might want to change your nickname now...I think.

But in any case, I agree with you that Uncharted looks like exactly what this holiday season is missing. I mean we have a lot of FPS and music games, but there's no clear action adventure game that's really as cinematic and immersing as Uncharted.

Do these analysts even play video games or do they rely on others telling them the hype? Granted Haze is still uncertain, but I think just about all PS3 owners are going to be buying Uncharted and R&C by Christmas.

New DS redesign... Aren't people tired of paying again and again for the same hardware? I hate these redesigns (PSP lite, DS lite...).

As for titles at risk, I think Haze has a better situation since it's coming in December and not in middle of COD4 and all other monsters of November.

ShiftyLookingCow6009d ago

I think redesigns are great as long as the price is the same. Most people dont use GBA carts on DS(not me, as I want to play FFTactics Advance sometime) so I think they would prefer the new one with better display.

Rooftrellen6008d ago (Edited 6008d ago )

I still have my fat DS.

No one has to pay again. You see people quite often with multiple home consoles. Why not handheld consoles, too?

So long as they can't play any new games, they can call it whatever they want, but there is no more incentive to buy it than there was to buy the little PS when you already had a big one.

how stupid , thsi is base on nothing

Hades13376009d ago

The titles that are supposed to be getting "squeezed" just happen to be my next 3 games.

stupid rock games are gimmicks! Why are plastic guitar crap gimmicks squeezing the true gamers in November?

Everyone else fails compared to me. The world is full of f*ggots who want to rock and roll with plastic instruments. God provided me with a brain. It's both a bless and a curse.

@my "God-given brain" limps on-and-on, ^^^^^^

Dude, you're quickly fast becoming the "most annoying" mofo in this site.
I kind of laughed-off when you started bragging about your 'brain' (only God knows what you PERSONALLY mean by 'brains') considering that you act like a f-king kid! You're probably one of those people who annoy other people when playing online because you just wouldn't shut up!

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
